Daadi’s POV


It’s been two days and we haven’t found Khushi yet. Yes, I know she is alive and even know she is at Sheetal’s place but Arnav doesn't know this and it bothers me. He hasn’t eaten well from past two days and he is not even mingling with the family. It’s strange how he suddenly stopped panicking about her and didn’t even demand to go to the police station to look for his missing wife. This has me worried because it is very important for me to know what Arnav is thinking about this entire situation. So, this is why I enter his room and find him standing at the poolside, alone, looking at the sky, at the diminishing moon. Even the eclipse is after three days and we are yet to find some concrete solution to break Chandrika’s spell.

“Arnav,” I call him out but he doesn't turn. So, I make my way to him and stroke his arm.

“Speak to me, Chotte. I know this is all tough for you and Khushi’s absence is just heartbreaking but I need to know what you are thinking at the moment. Please.. Please don’t be so quiet. I am worried for you..”

“I am responsible for all this,” Arnav murmurs, but still doesn't look at me. “I can feel it, Daadi. I am responsible for it. I think that night, when I was under the spell in the basement, I have hurt Khushi.”


I swallow painfully seeing my grandson in pain. He turns to me.

“Khushi had a premonition which she had shared with me.. I was going to push her in the well and I think I did exactly that, Daadi. That night, I pushed her in the well, confirming her premonitions were true.”


I know Khushi was pushed into the well but I know it wasn’t Arnav who did it. But I can’t tell him this yet. Not until we find Chandrika and break this connection which Arnav has with her.

“How can you be so confident?” I ask.

“Because I inspected the well, Daadi. And saw blood in that well. It was definitely Khushi’s.”


I am speechless. Arnav inspected the well? Without telling us? When? And why was he not doing anything if he felt he had pushed Khushi in the well?

Arnav looks away from me and then back at the sky.


“But I know she is alive..” he says smiling softly.

My heart thumps. He is so confident of that too?

“How?” I stutter.. “How do you think she is alive if you saw her blood there?” I ask.

“Because my heart is still beating, Daadi,” he mentions looking in my eyes with tears in his. He touches his heart and pats it softly. “I can feel hers beating too somewhere. She’s gone away from me for a reason and I want her to be away. I am dangerous for her life. I can’t risk to be with her ever again.. I can’t…”


Tears roll down his cheeks and that very instant, I take my grandson in my embrace. I can’t see him in this state. He is so much in love with Khushi that he can feel her heart beating at some corner of the world and he wants her safe .. from him. Their love is great and I know it is this love that will give them the necessary strength to fight back the evil. I am confident!!
