NEW FF: My New Boss - Season 3 - Prologue

 

PROLOGUE


I sit at my working desk, staring at the sand clock on the table. Six years I have slogged for this Company like my own. The Raizada Group, one of the most reputed Company in the world is finally announcing its new CEO tomorrow. I don’t think anyone else have waited for this moment so anxiously like I have in these few years that I have given to the Company and its staff. Me, Khushi Gupta, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Raizada Group has given every ounce of her energy and time to this Company to sustain its number one position in the fashion market from the past 6 years and tomorrow this is all going to change. I would have smiled and celebrated this moment, and the victory that comes with it, even before the real announcement but that phone call from London shattered all my dreams. My Boss, the chairman and Managing director of The Raizada Group, Ayush Singh Raizada’s son Arnav Singh Raizada was returning today and I have heard gossips in the staff that he would be proclaimed as the new CEO of the Company, not me.

I fist my fingers around the paperweight, stopping it from rotating on the desk. Why was he coming back? As far as I was told, he and his mother had left the country, after Ayush Singh Raizada divorced his wife which was almost two decades ago. The court had given the custody of his son to the mother and since then neither Ayush Singh Raizada’s wife nor his son ever turned up to him. Why now? Why when he was so close to announce me as the CEO of the Company? I can’t effing believe this.!!


I am about to throw the paperweight away when the cabin door knocks, forcing me to control my actions. I put a smile on my face as I see my Boss entering the room. Ayush Singh Raizada looks happy and nervous both. I rise to my feet.


“Congratulations, Mr, Raizada. I heard your son is arriving today.”


He nods happily.

“Yes, he is. That’s why I am going to the airport in some time. To receive him. Will you attend the Mak team’s conference in my absence? It’s a big deal. We cannot miss it Khushi.”

“You don’t have to ask me Sir. I will.”

“Thank you so much Khushi. You know if there is anyone in this office whom I can trust blindly, its you.”


I smile again, totally aware that he isn’t lying.


“Now you will have two of us to trust Sir.” I add, the smile I faked earlier, wiped off from my face.

“Yes. I will. I will surely love to trust my son in handling this Business and taking over things from here.”


My jaw clench at that information but I pretend to be cool. Someone is stealing my place, the role I deserved, after coming so close to it. Can I withstand this defeat? I hope I do.!


“I am getting late. I should leave now.”

He takes few steps to the door and then stops.

“By the way, don’t forget it’s a very big day for you tomorrow. I want you early here so that we can discuss a few key points before we make the big announcement,” he adds.


I don’t understand.


“Big day for me?” I repeat.

“You are going to be the CEO of The Raizada Group, Khushi Gupta. It’s is a big day for you, isn’t it?”


My heart flutters and cheeks flame with joy. Is he serious?

“But Sir. Your son? I mean, he .. he is returning to you. So, shouldn’t he be the CEO of the Company? I Mean.. this all finally belongs to him..”


He nods acknowledging my remark.


“It’s too soon to give him such a big charge of the Company. I don’t even know what he can handle and how much. But with you, I blindly can say the Company is at good executive hands. So, my decision is still the same. You will be the CEO tomorrow and Arnav will be reporting you.”


I swallow nervously. It’s happening. There is no change. This is happening. I am going to be the CEO of The Raizada Group tomorrow. Damn!! It’s time to celebrate. I will!! I have all the reasons to go and enjoy a drink in the Club tonight, if nothing more. I thank him and then wait until he leaves my office before dialing my best friend Lavanya Kshyap to be ready tonight. She is the only best company I have.



Note: Alright!! So here it is! My New Boss Season 3. It will be an Office Romance but no love is happening anytime soon between Arshi. For the first time in all my FFs, Arnav despite being all rich and powerful is going to report to Khushi at work. However hard it sounds, she is going to make it worse for him and he would in turn make it hell for her. With Fire colliding with Fire, there will only be Fireworks around. With both leads having their own backstories and share of pain and loss, it will be interesting to see how they become each other’s solace in future. A lot of page turning shocking revelations planned up for this FF which I hope you will love to read. Aman Mathur and Akash will also be introduced as the story progresses and will play crucial roles in pushing Arnav-Khushi together at some point. How can we forget Shyam Jha? He is also there to spread his charm (good or bad) you will know soon.

Happily-Ever-After is not what I was looking for after a heart-breaking love tragedy in my life 9 years ago. I still believe in love but it’s simply not for me anymore. “Me first.” Raunak mentions and is about to kiss her when I pull Palak to me.

“She hugged me first, so I will kiss her first.”

He frowns. “She is my daughter, so I will kiss her first.”

While we bicker, Palak pats her forehead and pulls our arms. She has a better solution, maybe. “You both kiss me together.”

Raunak swallows while I shrug. This seems cool.

“Palak might be your daughter, but she is more intelligent like me.” I say too sweetly.

“Oh really?” His lips try to mask his smile. “Do you even know the spelling of intelligence?”

What? Seriously? He is questioning my knowledge?

“Your sources might have told you. I was a scholar at my college.”

“Which was like 10 years back.” He grins.

My jaw drops. “Uff ohh.” Palak sighs and when we pause our bickering, she giggles, making us laugh too. For a change, she is acting like an elder amongst the three of us. She taps both her cheeks as if demanding us to kiss her soon so without wasting time, me and Raunak lean towards her to kiss. I am about to kiss her cheek and so is Raunak, I suppose, when Palak runs away, giggling, and our lips touch… It’s too instant. My heart leaps with the sudden contact of Raunak’s lips. Palak is nowhere in the room but how could she ditch us like this? This is the most uncompromising situation for us and while I try to fetch words to change this moment, Raunak does something totally opposite. He pulls me by my chin, locking his lips with mine. Again.
