Chapter 49


Arnav leads Khushi out of the beach resort, straight to their car waiting outside. The Driver is ready inside.

“Arnav… I am overly dressed” she complains before sitting inside the vehicle.
“Doesn’t matter. No one is going to be there except your husband to see you in this attire there. Now get inside”

She giggles when he pats her behind. He seems to be in a hurry of getting away from this place and she is equally curious to know where he is taking her.  The driver speeds the vehicle away once they settle in.


“We should inform Di” he mutters removing his cell phone and dialing his sister. Khushi keeps admiring her desperate husband. He always looked smart but today he seems polished and suave. He is still in the Brown sherwani which he wore during their rituals. The color suits him.. Everything suits him. She keeps staring at Arnav while he quickly informs his sister about their dismissal from their wedding reception and advises her to look after the guests. When he hangs up, Khushi raises her doubts.

“We aren’t going back to the resort tonight?”

Arnav raises her hand and kisses the back of her palm.

“I have a better place to celebrate this night”  

The car halts after roughly 10 minutes and Arnav assists Khushi to get down. She is stunned to see a beautiful Private white Yacht docked at the seaport. She hadn’t expected this.

“We are spending our night in this” he murmurs in her ears.

Khushi’s jaw drops as she meets her husband’s eyes again.

“You really know to give surprises”
“But you hate Surprises, don’t you?” he pouts.

She wraps her arms around his neck and touches their noses.
“Not when they come from you”
Arnav smirks and in one gentle move, he carries her in his arms and walks towards the Yacht.
“I bought this Yacht last month and you have no clue how desperate I was to get you here” he exclaims.
Khushi keeps wrapping her arms around his neck for support.
“You work very hard” she compliments.
Arnav smiles and puts her down. An English man greets them at the entrance.

“Welcome on-board Mr. and Mrs. Raizada”
“Thank you, Jack” Arnav replies.

Jack nods happily and gives them a way to walk in. Khushi is dazzled to see the interiors of the Yacht. Every minute detail has been taken care of. There is a pathway of rose petals leading them to a small door which is supposedly their bedroom. She grips Arnav’s arm in delight as he leads her in there. The room is very lit with scented candles and flowers, all of Khushi’s favorites.

“Liked it?” he whispers.
“Hmmm.. Very…” she meets his eyes and fiddles with his Sherwani. “You have my magic wand. Whatever I like, whatever I have always wanted, you never fail to give me that”

Arnav cups her cheeks.

“That is because you are the center of my universe Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada. My life revolves around you”
He pecks her lips and pulls away.
“There is more I need to show you”
Khushi is not surprised to hear that. With Arnav Singh Raizada being your husband, you can always expect wonders. He takes her out at the deck. The Yacht has begun its course. The deck is also decorated with roses and at the center there is a table with a wedding cake on it.

“Oh my God. That’s Red Velvet Cake. How did you know I love that flavor?”

Arnav rolls his eyes.
“Is that even a question to ask?” He mocks.. “I know every little detail about you wife? And after tonight, I will know every inch of you even” he adds huskily, lingering his finger on her cheek.

Khushi gasps at his sudden romantic gestures. He tears his gaze from hers and then takes her to the table. He makes her hold the knife and they cut their wedding cake. She feeds him first and then he repeats her actions.

“It’s yummy” she mutters licking her fingers. Arnav nods.
“That cake is from your best friend actually”
“What? Lavanya?”
“Yup.. She couldn’t attend the wedding so she sent the cake for us”
“You invited her too?”
“I had to. She is your best friend after all”
“Awwww” she kisses his cheek. “You have really taken every single detail into consideration and planned this wedding, didn’t you?”
“All for you” he kisses her back and this time on her lips.

When they pull apart, he dials Lavanya’s number so that Khushi can talk to her.

“Not a voice call. Video call please” Khushi insists. “I want to see her reactions”
Arnav smiles and does as told. Lavanya answers the video call. It’s late night in India. Lavanya was sleeping but when she saw Arnav Singh Raizada’s video call, she realized it has to be Khushi.
“Hello Mrs. Raizada” Lavanya teases answering the call. “How did your remarriage go?”

Khushi hugs Arnav from the side, who is holding the phone. Both of them are visible to Lavanya on the screen.
“What do you think how it went?” Khushi asks giggling.
“Oh my my..” Lavanya rubs her eyes. “Are you guys in a Yacht?”
Khushi bites her lip.
“And is that my cake behind?”
“Yes” Khushi replies. “Thank you La. I wish you could attend the wedding too”
“Yea.. I wanted that too. I had an important shoot today and Arnav couldn’t wait to postpone this wedding by one day. If it had been tomorrow, I would have definitely made it there”

Khushi turns to see Arnav who nods. That’s right. Lavanya had requested him to shift the wedding by one day but he couldn’t. They already had such a tight schedule here considering Khushi has to return back to San Francisco too and resume her work.

“Never mind. I wish you both the best of life and please for gods sake.. make some babies.. I Am dying to be an Aunt” Lavanya teases.

Khushi laughs heartily and hugs Arnav tighter.

“We will give you that honor soon” Arnav replies to Lavanya. “You have been there for my wife always. I can never thank you enough for that”

Lavanya smiles accepting his gratitude.
“I wont take much of your time now.. It’s your first night.. Go Enjoy”
Khushi blushes hard. They say each other goodbyes and end the call. Arnav puts the phone back in his pocket. He bents down and presses his lips on hers.
“time to bed, Mrs. Raizada”
“Take me there” she insists stretching her arms at him. Arnav sways her in his arms and carries her all the way inside to their cozy room in the Yacht. The remarriage was just a formality. They had already given their heart and soul to each other in the course of their separation period. And whatever was left was going to be accomplished hereon. The night was young and so were their desires for each other.

“Good morning”

Arnav hears his wife’s sweet voice, whispering in ears. He opens his eyes and finds her sitting beside on the bed. She is wearing a robe, the only piece of clothing he could manage to fetch for her last night. She looks different.. more beautiful.. cute and is glowing somehow. It is so easy to love her. Though she has been a tough nut to crack, he has realized all down the way that the only thing she needed from him was love and respect.

“Damn!!” he curses himself remembering something. “I was supposed to wake up before you”
He gets up and leans behind on the headboard of the bed, pulling Khushi onto him.
“Why should you give me all the surprises? I also owe few to you”
“You are no less than a surprise package in my life. That’s enough for me” he nuzzles his nose on her cheek.
She giggles feeling tickled by his gestures.
“Tum theek ho?” he meets her eyes.
She snuggles closer to him.
“Never felt this better”
“Liar” he smirks.
She pouts and decides to tell him the truth.
“Got a backache”

Arnav frowns.
“Want me to press?” he is about to touch her back but she pushes him away and gets down the bed.
“Nope..”
“What the” he groans in anger.
“We are getting late. Our families got to see us too. They are waiting at the hotel. We should go back”

Arnav denies crossing his arms at the front.

“I want my wife all for myself. I am not going anywhere”

Khushi drops her jaw and then shrugs.
“Alright then. Stay here alone with Jack. I am leaving”

She walks to the mirror to fetch a bow to tie her hair when Arnav hugs her from behind.

“You will be leaving tomorrow” he murmurs seriously.
Khushi’s mood drops too.
“I want to stay back too but.”
“I know” he cuts her words and turns her around. “I have a solution to that. We can stay together”

Khushi is confused what kind of solution he is talking about.

“What solution Arnav? You have work in Cape Town here and India. And I still have almost 3 months to finish my Project in San Francisco. How is this possible that we still stay together?”
“I am almost done with the Joint Venture with the Guptas. My presence is no longer mandatory and even if it is, I will manage to travel once a week here for a day or two max. My India work is taken care by Aman and some superior management. So, technically I can shift with you to San Francisco and stay there until you finish the next quarter” 

Khushi is surprised..

“Is this possible?” she asks hopefully.
“Nothing is impossible for your husband Sweetheart”
She jumps in joy and hugs him tight.
“I love you for this.. I was sad thinking how we would survive this separation again and you already have a plan in mind. I couldn’t have asked for more”
“Me neither” he kisses her hair and hugs her back.

Though he won’t be travelling tomorrow with Khushi, he will not delay his departure for more than a week. He will utilize this 7 -8 days here to wind up his remaining work and then shift. Nani is already with Di and it will be nice to stay with all of his family together for some time. He has missed them all from quite long time.

Hotel

“Welcome… Welcome… my children.. welcome back to us” Shashi greets the couple as soon as they get back to the Hotel.

The Jha couple and Guptas have been enjoying their morning breakfast together. The joy on Arnav and Khushi’s faces are enough to confirm the family how contended they are to have been married again with the blessings of both families.

“I hope you both had a good sleep?” Anjali murmurs to Khushi who sits next to her.
“Ask your Chotte” Khushi teases back, biting her lip.
Anjali laughs at her reply and offers her the fruits. Arnav sits next to his wife and begins to eat.

Arnav shares his plans of joining his wife and family in San Francisco in few days. The Gupta couple compliment his idea.

“Shashi, that means we have to wait for 3 months to see them again” Kyle says with disappointment.
“Dad, why don’t you both keep visiting us there? The last time you came, Kyle wasn’t there and you hardly stayed for a day. Please think about it”

Shashi is thoughtful but Kyle quickly agrees to the plan.

“That’s a brilliant thought Khushi. I will ensure your father agrees and we will see you all soon there”
Shashi is happy to see Kyle taking this initiative. She is now building their family and it’s a great effort from her side.

Arnav places his arm on Khushi’s leg grabbing her attention back on him.

“Why don’t we eat the rest in our room?” he asks her softly. She sees a glint of mischief in his eyes but decides to accept it.
“Okay”

Arnav mouths something at her and then wipes his lips.
“We will see you guys in the afternoon” he says getting up, holding Khushi’s hand.


No one dares to deny or stop them. It is their moment and their time to be with each other. Pulling them apart is the last thing the family wants.
