“I need a deadline” he suddenly demands out of nowhere.



She turns behind, trying to read his face and understand what made him ask a deadline from her; on what subject?

“Huh?” she murmurs.

He makes his way in the kitchen where she is making soup for her mother.

“It might not be the right to talk about this again, but seems like you have forgotten I am waiting for your reply.”

Khushi is mortified as memories of Rajasthan flashes in the back of her mind. He had proposed her for a real relationship.. probably the one which ends up in marriage; though he openly never proposed for that far.



When she focuses back on him, her lips part a bit in surprise. This is really not the right time to discuss about their future when her mother is sick.



“Are you avoiding it on purpose?” he stops a feet away, his eyes never leaving hers.

“No.. I am not avoiding it” she stirs the soup, lowering her gaze. “But why do you need a deadline? If we decide a date and I fail to give you a positive response by that date, will you start looking for another woman? Is that why you need a deadline?”



She is being humorous, she knows it’s not her trait. But she really deserves to know what he plans after that so called deadline. He closes the gap between them, forcing her to meet his eyes again. She feels intimidated.
