Chapter 40 B
The phone rang aloud disturbing Arnav’s sleep. Khushi was still in his embrace, sleeping peacefully. Not willing to wake her up, he decided to silence her phone. But when he saw his father’s number displayed on the screen, he realized it was Aarav. It was almost 06:00 am here which meant in India it was 10:30pm last night. This had to be Aarav’s call. When Arnav was in India, they would together call Khushi once before sleeping. Arnav quickly raised himself and sat on the bed, without disturbing his sleeping wife to answer the call.
“Aarav.??”
“Dad?” he happily answered. “What are you doing on Mom’s phone?”
His innocent question made Arnav grin. He admired his wife who was still on his side of the bed, her arms cuddling his waist.
“Mom is sleeping Champ. So, I answered her phone. You all set to sleep?”
“Yes. I am sleeping with Bua tonight. You know she has got new story books for me?”
“Has she?” Arnav stiffened. “What kind of stories?”
Trusting Anjali again was hard for Arnav though a part of his heart said that she wouldn’t fed Aarav’s ears again. She was changing. Ayush, who was next to Aarav, answered for him.
“Children’s fantasy books, Arnav. She bought a few yesterday for Aarav. We had been shopping” Ayush replied.
“Oh” Arnav was relieved to hear that. “How is she doing now?”
“She is fine. I was thinking should we consider her joining the AR Group?”
“By all means Dad”
Arnav gently moved Khushi’s arm off his waist and got down the bed. He didn’t want to wake her up. He stood at the Balcony door, waiting for the sun to rise. It was freezing outside and since the sky was clear, there were chances he could see the sunrise happening soon. He spoke to his father and Aarav for some more time when he could hear his wife’s murmurs. He turned around and saw her hugging the pillow. She was blushing in her dream. That look in her sleeping form was enough to trigger his body. He quickly winded up the call and headed back to his wife. As soon as he joined her back on the bed, she opened her eyes. A blush crept on her face as she saw him intensely admiring her.
“Tell me what you were dreaming” he demanded pulling the pillow away from her grip.
Khushi choked.
“Why are you awake?” She yawned.
“I asked you first” he moved closer and in no time, she was pinned by her husband’s body on the bed. “Tell me..”
Khushi knew ignoring his question wasn’t a good choice right now so she shared.
“I dreamt about us.. making love”
Arnav swallowed.
“I see that every night since I am here..” she added. “And now that you are here too.. those dreams are taking a toll on my sleep”
“Morning dreams often come true” He waggled his brows suggestively.
“I hope they come true soon” her lip curled into a half-smile.
This one statement from her was enough for Arnav to kiss her breathlessly. It was the most languid kiss that lasted on and on. After almost a few minutes when they broke apart, the sun had risen in the sky. Arnav got down the bed, taking her with him to the Windows.
“So beautiful..” she mumbled as he hugged her from behind, placing a dry peck on her cheek. “It’s a new morning.. of our new life..”
“Indeed” That’s all she could say before he captured her lips again.
*******************
Khushi’s morning shower was quick and though she had expected him to take her to bed again after their infinite kisses, Arnav had other plans. They pushed their skiing plans to later and decided to spend some time sightseeing. He wanted to explore Auckland from his wife’s perspective. She had stayed here for seven long years and this place was where she started her new life again after losing her memories. Now, he wanted to be a part of it.. a part of her!!
Arnav helped Khushi make the breakfast and she was impressed by his culinary skills.
“That’s how you beat the eggs.” Arnav demonstrated with a tease.
“You could be a Chef too Mr. Raizada”
She popped a piece of strawberry in his mouth.
“Sexy Chef” She added leisurely touching his forearm, in the pretext of grabbing the knife.
Arnav clenched his teeth. She had been giving all kinds of signals by touching him inappropriately in the last one hour, here in the kitchen, and all he wanted to do was take her then and there. He had planned their re-consummation slow, one step at a time, but seemed like his wife had other plans.
“I am done with the bread toast Arnav, speed up with your omelets please”
She was aware her romantic ministrations were slowing his work and she enjoyed it thoroughly. Though his self-control was at its best, every time she touched him, it loosened up a bit. This time when she brushed her arm again, leaning herself over the kitchen counter, close to him, Arnav stopped and in no time grabbing her wrists, he hauled her closer.
“You are such a wicked tease, Mrs. Khushi Singh Raizada. Your husband is trying to focus on the breakfast and you are not letting him do that”
Her lips curled into a smile.
“Does it really work? I thought this thing happens only in movies” She teased.
The gleam in his eyes said he was ready to ravage her right there.
“Alright” she giggled. “Please continue with the omelets. I will get the breakfast ready on the table. We have to go sightseeing and shop for Aarav”
He nodded freeing his wife and continued beating the eggs.
After the breakfast, Khushi drove him to Auckland city first. Sprawled out in a helter-skelter fashion, the city was right beside the waterway. They first visited the Sky Tower, the city’s most prominent landmark. Standing at the observation deck, Khushi clicked a few pictures of them with the panoramic view of the city stretching behind them. They then hopped into a 45-minute helicopter tour to capture the city’s aerial view. While Arnav was equally attentive when she pointed out the various spots of the city, during their ride, he couldn’t miss the excitement on her face as she explained all of it.
“You see that tower there..” she pointed out again.. “There is a Karaoke bar over there and once I was out with my team for a party. I think it was last Christmas. They made me sing.. can you believe it? It was my first solo performance and I couldn’t believe I could do that.. Maybe I was high..” she winked. “Actually not really high.. I was jealous.. Almost all of my team had partners that night and I.. I was single.”
“You sing?” he was surprised by that new information.
“Sometimes. You shouldn’t hear it though”
“Why?”
“It’s terrible” she giggled and her eyes shone as his lips met her skin. His simple touch and she relaxed, melted into her husband. They were descending but none of them broke the kiss until they landed. When they got down the helicopter, her legs wobbled. Had he not held her, she would have lost her balance.
“Where to now?” she asked walking to the exit.
“Lunch and then I am taking you some place you would love to go”
Khushi was confused.
“I am your tour guide, not vice versa”
Arnav didn’t debate. He had already planned their evening and she couldn’t wait to know his agenda.
******************
New Zealand was haven for Dolphins and that’s exactly what he planned for this evening.. a Dolphin and Whale watching Cruise. They departed from the harbor after lunch into the waters of Hauraki Gulf Marine Park in search of Whales and dolphins. Spending time with Arnav on a private Yacht was the most romantic moment for Khushi. Khushi admired him as he raised the binoculars to trace any signs of Whales for her.
“How did you know I love Whales and Dolphins?”
Arnav gazed back at her.
“Aarav loves it and he has most of your tastes. Wasn’t very difficult to find out”
His amazing words melted her again, soaking them up she moved in his embrace as he lowered the binoculars to her.
“There they are..” he said pointing at a direction to their left. Khushi watched through the binoculars, enjoying the view before her. Despite staying here from years, she had never had any closest encounter with these creatures and now being able to do so with her husband next to her, was the best thing she could dream of.
The sky turned dark by the time they docked at the port again, clicking pictures of the Whales and Dolphins and even forwarded a few to Ayush Singh Raizada who could share it with their Son Aarav. They couldn’t wait to get Aarav here soon and enjoy a similar vacation with him. After Dinner at a nearby restaurant, they reached home again, both exhausted by their day out. Arnav had a few work calls to make which she happily allowed him and retired to her room… correction .. THEIR room. Khushi had no plans to keep her husband away. She changed into her nightclothes and hopped on the bed, waiting for Arnav to show up.
Arnav was on call with his father. They had decided to introduce Anjali as their new shareholder in the Company. She had already started taking knowledge transfer from Ayush and was more than eager to share her own for the benefit of AR Group. They planned some strategies how this would work out in the future. Ayush was happy that Arnav didn’t ignore discussing about Anjali anymore. They spoke for an hour after which Arnav resumed back to the room. His smile dissolved when she saw Khushi sleeping peacefully on the bed. She looked tired and it was obvious he had no plans to trouble her tonight. Taking a quick shower, he joined her on bed, cuddling her from behind, breathing in her hair. It felt Home!! She was his Home and that’s all it mattered for him hereon. She had got her lost family back and he got his wife. This was never going to change.
Feeling his arms around her waist, Khushi pushed herself behind in his embrace.
“You are distracting me” he whispered darkly, pulling her even closer.
“I like … distracting you..” she mumbled so low that he could hardly hear. She was still in sleep. He kissed her ear and shut his eyes to get his own share of rest.
To be Continued.
“Yes. I am sleeping with Bua tonight. You know she has got new story books for me?”
“Has she?” Arnav stiffened. “What kind of stories?”

RANDOM EXCERPTS OF 4 EBOOKS
Mr and Mrs Sehgal (Book 1 of Mr and Mrs Series)
“Mr. Sehgal” the doctor turned.
“How is my wife Doctor?”
Aashi turned away from looking at him.
“She is having high fever. But we have given her medicines. The fever should go. We have taken some blood samples too so nothing to worry. We’ll let you know when the reports come. And Mrs. Sehgal” the doctor turned to Aashi again. “Please do something about your lost appetite. You are losing weight”
Aashi faked a smile. As the doctor moved out, Kabier walked to her bed.
“You should leave” she snapped. “Don’t waste your time in attending me. I can look after myself”
Kabier frowned. He had never taken care of someone ill and right now had no clue what to do next.
“You are not eating well?” he asked.
Now he is asking her that? Hadn’t he noticed before when they had dinners together? She hardly ate.
“Kabier please leave” she pleaded.
“Don’t you dare push me out” he growled. “This is my hospital and you are my wife. I belong here”
Mr and Mrs Thakur (Book 2 of Mr and Mrs Series)
“I am sorry but you got to stay tonight” he exhaled in a rush.
“I am aware of that. It was my idea to ask them as a good host. I didn’t know they would agree”
“Glad you asked” he murmured not for her ears.
“Did you say something?”
“I did?”
“I heard you Neil Thakur. Don’t sound so pleased. I am going to spend the night in the living room as all other rooms are already occupied”
There was a promise in his eyes that he wouldn’t let that happen. His lips thinned at her persistence.
“If you are staying anywhere under this roof tonight then you are sleeping in my room, on my bed. I don’t want my friends to be suspicious”
Something in his tone set her on the edge.
“How about I don’t sleep at all under this roof and just pack my stuff and leave?”
“That’s not happening Mrs. Esha Neil Thakur”
Marriage Jitters (Book 1 of Accidental Marriage Series)
My phone rings and I answer it subconsciously without checking the caller Id.
“Hello”
There is a complete silence from the other end for few seconds.
“Hello? Who’s this?”
“Hello Tarini Kaur”
I jump from my seat. Viren?? Viren Dewan called me? Rachna stares at me curiously to know why I reacted that way.
“Viren?” I stutter.
“You didn’t forget my voice. Impressive”
“I guessed”
That’s a lie. I can recognize his voice even if I go deaf. But I don’t want to look like a fool right now. He announced his marriage, and I don’t want to look desperate to grieve about that.
“Good guess then. I am sure you have read the article about my marriage”
I stare at Rachna’s phone and my jaw clench on its own.
“I did. Congratulations”
“Thank you”
“Who is the bride Viren?”
Shit!! Do I look anxious to ask that?
His Destined Bride (Book 2 of The Bride Series)
All this was like a nightmare for Niyati but she kept her focus and did as told. She headed to Jahaan Singh and met his extra ordinary gaze. She had seen that kind of look before on a man’s face for her. Men swooned on her beauty whenever she was out in public. That was one of the reasons why the Zamindar was so desperate in making her his wife. But never in her dreams she thought of a Royal Prince falling for her charms.
“Meet my bride, Niyati Jahaan Singh” Jahaan introduced her the moment she stood next to him. The media kept clicking them together. Niyati was stunned by the attention everyone was giving her. Here she had decided to elope and lead a simple private life but everything had turned the opposite.
Jahaan Singh handled the rest of the interview in his own stylish way, without caring for all the allegations and poking questions raised by the reporters. All he wanted was to face them and stuff their notes with enough lines which could maintain the dignity of his family and hers. The Royal tag meant everything to him and he would do anything to keep it that way.
