Khushi’s POV
I watch Arnav talking to his mother post dinner. They have a lot to talk and so I don’t disturb them. Though I have seen Laad Governor happy with me, I know he was missing his parents a lot. Especially his mother.
Ayush Singh Raizada enters the kitchen breaking my trance. Probably he has seen me admiring his wife and Arnav outside.
“Can I get some water?” he asks and I quickly pour some from the jug. He gulps it down while I continue the remaining kitchen chores.
“Meera wants to visit Devki Estate.” He mentions and I halt all my actions. As soon as I meet his gaze, he sighs. “We mean no harm this time.”
I swallow painfully recalling how once he had almost hired goons, bribed politicians, police and social workers only to destroy my vision for Devki Estate.
“You don’t need my permission to go there if that’s so.” I reply.
“Thank you” he smiles. “I know you don’t trust us because of the past but believe me, this time all we want to do is accept you and your decisions heartily.”
I don’t say anything but after a few seconds I just have to ask him this.
“You are only accepting me for your son, aren’t you? Otherwise, I am still that same Orphan child who was always a burden on your family.”
He is about to retort when we both see Arnav and Meera Singh Raizada standing at the kitchen door. Arnav stares at me horrified. I put the cloth away and walk out.
Note: Will post the full update tomorrow evening.

For those who have read my recent new eBook - No Wedding Bells, know already who Ruhi Singh is. So will Ruhi find her Happily-Ever-After?
Ruhi Singh
Happily-Ever-After is not what I was looking for after a heart-breaking love tragedy in my life 9 years ago. I still believe in love but it’s simply not for me anymore. Burying the demons that scared me, I have stepped into a new world to make a fresh identity and only when I thought things will sort out for me now, I get an invitation from the Royals of Mahalpur for teaching Painting to someone from their family. I take it up as they are ready to pay me a huge sum for this three-month tutoring. Least did I know life was throwing a challenge named Raunak Malhotra, the eldest son of the Royal family, who had an attitude as high as Mt Everest and anger which could burn a whole city in seconds.
Raunak Malhotra
Happily-Ever-After is not what I was looking for after I lost my wife, 4 years ago in a car crash. Now all I have that reminds me of her is my four-and-half year old daughter, Palak. Burying the bruises of my loss, I tried to step ahead but my family thinks I have changed. I am not the one I used to be once. To alter their beliefs, I agree to this stupid idea of learning a new skill which can calm my mind and bring me out of my loss forever. I know that’s freaking impossible but I will do it for them. Least did I know life was throwing a challenge named Ruhi Singh, my new painting teacher, who had a heart of gold and was as damaged as I am at the moment. We are both scarred, so how the hell can we soothe each other?
Can two broken souls unite and get their happily-ever-after?

NEW EXCERPT 1
When I come out in a black robe, Mom holds my arm and drags me to the Maroon recliner at the corner of my bedroom.
“How many times have I told you not to hurt yourself, Raunak?” She shouts, pushing me on the recliner and sits on the small table before it, with the first aid box on her lap.
“It was an accident Maa.”
“Accident?” She glares at me. “Ramu told me everything. Only because you lost the race, you punched the car window? Look how badly your fingers are bruised.”
That’s right. I did that. No big deal and I have no remorse either. I was so frustrated at that moment knowing one of my Stallions who had won almost five races so far, lost today only because my jockey was bribed and even went missing after the race. This was insane. I can forgive anyone but not cheaters. So, when I got a call from my manager stating all this, I couldn’t control my anger. It came out on the car window in no time and I bruised my fist.
Maa cleans my wounds and bandages it.
“How could you do this Raunak? I am worried if this continues, you are going to set a wrong example on Palak”
The moment she says this, I withdraw my arm from hers.
“Maa can we please not get Palak into this conversation? She wasn’t there when it happened and you know I am always on my best behavior when my daughter is around.”
Maa sighs in disappointment.
“Your anger scares me Raunak. It’s not good for your health, your daughter and for your public image either. You know how much the media loves you. They are waiting to print news of your arrogance all the time and..”
“I will be careful”
I stride to my walk-in closet full of designer suits, traditional attires and other men’s accessories and open the left drawer to take out my branded watch. I bought it last month when I went to Paris. I am crazy about watches and this one marked the 90th one in my collection.
“You always say you will be careful Raunak but there are no improvements in you so far. You need to tone down your anger.”
“Maa.”
“No,” she doesn’t let me speak. “Not this time Raunak. You had promised to take my help if needed and that’s exactly why I have decided the best way to keep your anger in check is to divert your attention elsewhere.”
Now I know where this is getting.
“I am not interested in re-marriage if that’s where you want me to divert to.”
She rolls her eyes.
“I know you are not ready to marry again so I will not push you for that.”
“Thank God.”
I quickly take out a one-button grey suit. I am meeting a friend for a drink.
“I have enrolled your name for a Painting course.”
“What?” I almost drop the suit from my hand. “Painting course? I.. Maa I am not in a mood of learning to Paint”
“Why not? It’s a good hobby. Your father loved it too and Palak,” she pauses. “Your daughter is a fan of her crayons. You know she spends hours coloring in her books. This art runs in our family, Raunak.”
Yes. I know my four-year old daughter Palak is fond of coloring but that definitely doesn’t mean I am interested in taking up a painting course.
“I don’t have time for this,” I retaliate.
Waiting for the conversation between Khushi and Arnav's parents and also some romance between Arshi also Daadi is coming. Nice Precap.😍😍
ReplyDeleteI thought you would post another part of ROTD again :(
ReplyDeleteNow Khushi is repeating exactly same words of Meera accepting me because of your son but Meera will always be wrong Khushi be right one including Daadi the mahan
ReplyDeleteI don't understand the differential treatment side characters receive from viewers for same actions. So much venom for Meera. Karma bites back only Meera? only Meera n Ayush 'll learn their lesson? Dadi, the mahan has no need to change at all bcoz her actions suit our female lead(the one whom we fangirl)!!
DeleteMeera is much better person than Dadi.
She disliked Khushi earlier coz Khushi was Dadi's(MIL from hell) team member for her. She disliked Khushi, her DIL coz she felt Khushi didnt love her son...a natural reaction of a mother. Not full of hatred for DIL like Dadi. Why should Ayush care for Dadi when she tried to make his life hell in those years when he needed her the most? Why should he let it go that his mother made circumstances so dire that his wife stayed back only coz she was pregnant?
But bcoz these are side characters, so called anti-Khushi(the heroine)...they 'll get bashed left and right.
Most of readers here are women, they want equal rights, treatment and what not but its very hard to treat others equally. I dont understand why characters who dont align with main leads get bashed so much?
It's really hard to believe Arnav's parents who once thought so low of Khushi is now ready to accept her whole heartedly.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they do for arnav after he left them come to India but before that what they done... See from Khushi shoe.. the word orphan it's very hard for kid... Not she ask... Dadi adopt her to kill her lonely life but she make mistakes... Even though not treat Khushi or remind her orphan... But meera did because jealous. Hurt by emotionally... Ayush didn't convenient his mother marry meera. Then didn't solve problem between them life live material in New York... Dadi is mother respect her but no... Run behind money... Then Khushi face problem because dadi give devaki estate to her.. what he did because money.. I'm not say Khushi became dump... Stand for her even though arnav there.. arnav parents must be ask apologize to her about behavior because humanity. Not only arnav love Khushi came to India. They never realized damage they done to her... Girl brought up good but stand own feet not ask money anything try to help dadi live her life... But them abuse her.. then pain terrible... Arnav maybe realize what Khushi feel about his parents. She became bridge to family but hurt always there . Take time to cure...
DeleteInteresting precap. Waiting eagerly.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what will happen now 🙆♀️🙆♀️
ReplyDeleteI thought we'd get another episode of ROTD but eagerly waiting for this one also
ReplyDeleteAs always loved it 💕💕💕
Biya
Rise of the devil 😣
ReplyDeleteWe needed little twist
ReplyDeleteWoah I just thought it's easy going and here you are ,let's see what's in store for next update
ReplyDeleteNicee twist dii.. waiting fr update
ReplyDeleteKhushi’s words are right. It’s now their time to prove that they’re genuine.
ReplyDeleteI think I am the only one who did not like khushi and dadi in this story.meera and khushi faced the same problem but unlike dadi though meera did not like khushi but never interfere between Arnav and Khushi. atleast she and ayush trying to accept khushi for their son.but dadi never tried to mend her relationship with meera. In this story I really don't like dadi and Khushi s attitude
ReplyDeleteHow was dadi supposed to mend her mistake when they left her alone. Even if she did mistake ya that was grave mistake but, life long of punishment is enough I think. And about khusi they called her orphan from the time she entered this house. Marriage was not reason for whatever she told to AYUSH, that was due to the pain she had to undergo since she was small. Meera suffered slot when she was newly married that causes the bitterness in her. But as the time passed she already got loving son who can even give his life to her. But about dadi, what to talk about AYUSH.
DeleteKhushi is right on her part..but I think Arnav is hurt by her choice of words...lets see what happens next... waiting eagerly 😁😁😁😁
