Bride of Sheesh Mahal - Season 3 - Part 9A

BANNER WILL BE POSTED SOON

Chapter 9A

Arnav’s POV

I take Shashi Gupta’s blessings. We are ready to leave back to Sheesh Mahal. The Roka was done even before I ended up here but I enjoyed the Jalebis with my family which Khushi fried. She’s a good cook. I was told to feed her and though Khushi hesitated to be fed, no one listened to her. I have to talk to my family about that. I don’t them to overcrowd Khushi by their demands. She is already very confused by this wedding and has her own reasons to marry me which I am yet to uncover.

“Shashiji, we will meet tomorrow again to discuss the further proceedings.” Daadi says folding her palms to take leave.

“Sure, Subhadraji. I will come to Sheesh Mahal.”

Khushi is standing with Di but she is glancing at me again and again and I realize that she wants to talk to me. When everyone walks out to the car, I stay back and stare at her.

“You wanted to speak to me?”

She is surprised that I read her mind. She comes forward and stands before me.

“I know you don’t believe whatever I told you the other day about my premonitions. But that doesn’t mean you are right.”

“Right or wrong, I don’t want to think about it now when my mind is already loaded with other stuff. So, please come to the point. What do you want?”

“This.”

She shows me a piece of red thread.

“What is this?”

“Raksha Dhaga (Protection thread). I want you to wear this on your wrist and never take it off.”

I roll my eyes.

“Please don’t deny. I have faith this will protect you from every evil.”

“Evil lies everywhere in people’s lives Khushi. I am sorry but I don’t believe this thread is going to protect me from evil nor I need it.”

I am about to leave when Khushi grabs my arm.

“You wont do this much for your soon to be bride?”

What the!! She is blackmailing me? And the way she has held my arm is her first attempt to touch me. How can I not accept? But I wont be that easy either. I look at her handhold. She is about to back off when I press her palm on my arm tight, not letting her move away.

“You want me to wear this Raksha Dhaga then meet me tomorrow outside. I will only wear it then from you.”

Her jaw drops.

“This is blackmailing” she frowns.

“You are doing the same. I’ll wear it only if you meet me tomorrow outside. Not otherwise.

She grits her teeth and glares at me while all I do is grin.

“Fine. I’ll meet you outside. But I’ll select the venue where we meet.”

I don’t mind.

“Okay” I nod. “Goodnight and see you tomorrow then.”

She keeps glaring at me. I reach the door and then turn around.

“And Khushi..”

She stares back at me.

“Wear something in red. I like that color.”

She opens her mouth to retort but I interrupt her.

“You and the Raksha Dhaga will be matching then.”

She knows I am purposely getting the Raksha Dhaga in between when the truth is that its my silly wish to see her in red. That’s the same color dress I saw her in when we first met and I think she kind of looks cute in it. I march out to the car and soon drive my family back to Sheesh Mahal.

As soon as park the car, a crow falls at my feet dead as soon as I get down from the car. Everyone screams and Akash pulls me back when this happens.

“God! What is that?” I shout.

“It’s a dead crow.” Akash inspects. “But how did it fall here and from where? I mean.. we just got down and..”

Daadi comes ahead and calls the servants.

“Take this away. Make sure you throw it much away from Sheesh Mahal.”

The servants nod and then we all get back in the house. Di touches my arm.

“Chotte, are you alright??”

“Of course, Di” I smile. “It was just a dead crow not a ghost. Relax.”

“And even if it was a ghost, Nannav would have kicked it off. Right Nannav?” NK teases.

“Stop all this nonsense guys. I am fine but damn tired. Let’s just call it night. Okay?”

I quickly say goodnight to everyone and then retire to my room.

*******************

It’s a weekend today so no office obviously. Not that I am free either. The Delhi office issues are yet to be handled fully which I am working on with Akash and my uncle when my phone vibrates. I open the message which happens to be from Khushi. I had almost forgot I had to meet her today and was expecting her to message me the venue. She has messaged me the same now and guess which venue she has picked for our meet? TEMPLE!! Huhh! I should have known. She will always select the most unromantic place for us to meet. That woman is so sharp. I text her if we can meet elsewhere and she denies strictly. Fine. If that’s what she wants. I tell her will be there in an hour. She agrees and I focus back on work.

Standalone Enemies to Lovers Romance Novel

Jhanvi Sikand
I was supposed to marry my childhood friend, Mohit Raichand. Call it fate or destiny, I tied the knot with the Forbidden Heir of the Raichand family – Aarav Raichand, instead. I knew nothing about him except that he used me as a pawn to start a war to snatch from the Raichands what was legally his.

Aarav Raichand
Despite being the firstborn in the Raichand family, they forbade me from the rights and tags I should legally own. My father was secretly married to my mother, his middle-class lady love. Yet my egoistic grandmother got him re-married to another woman from her rich circle. She considers their offspring, Mohit Raichand, as the true heir of the family now. I would have ignored it all had her actions not taken my mother’s life. I pledged on my mother’s grave to crush the ego of my grandmother and snatch what is rightfully mine, including the woman she was getting Mohit married to.

A Fight for dominance altered to War for Love. One war, Three Lives, Only Two could survive.
