Chapter 56B

Arnav’s POV

Two weeks later

Anjali Di is no more and this happened right a day after me and Khushi met her in the asylum. We were hardly coping up with this fact that we got another news today and it was even more scary. Mohan, Chandrika’s son and Anjali Di’s twin brother hanged himself in the jail. None of these two facts looked normal to me and definitely not when Khushi told me about her little conversation with Di in the hospital where the latter had told her that she didn’t cut her wrists, the curse made her do it. The power which Mohan probably had inside him too and so does Khushi which probably runs in their bloodline. I don’t know why but it scares me.

“Arnav,” Khushi steps inside our bedroom and sees me packing.

She looks a bit upset and startled. I know what she is thinking and why? Today after we discussed with the family about this power which Khushi has within her, they all wanted us to do only one thing and that was to leave India, to leave Sheesh Mahal where the incidents have happened and shift permanently to London. But Khushi was displeased with that idea though we haven’t got time to talk on it privately.

Khushi’s POV

Babuji exhales as he hears me out completely. After revealing my truth to the entire family soon after Akash and NK’s wedding, I insisted Arnav to take me to Babuji the next morning so that I could confess to him the same. Past few months I had literally pretended to have lost my memories and not knowing anything about me being the bride of Sheesh Mahal. But now that Arnav has got to know I was faking it, though for the betterment of him and his family, he is unwilling to let me go away from his life. He believes our love for each other will fight this evil power inside me.

“I am sorry Babuji,” I apologize as he looks at me annoyed. “I lied to you and everyone else. I am sorry.”

I leave Arnav’s hand to make my way to Babuji and give him a tight hug.

“Silly girl.” He strokes my back, taking me in his embrace. “How could you think you will hurt any one of us? My daughter is not that weak to let some unknown power or curse to win over her sacred heart.”

I don’t say a word. Babuji pulls away from the hug and wipes my tears.

NK’s POV

I knocked the door of Sheetal’s room. Only I knew how I had come here hiding from my family only to meet my bride. The door is slightly open and I think Sheetal left it purposely open for me as we had planned this short meet with each other before the wedding rituals begin. But when I enter, I sees Sheetal looking absolutely shocked as she reads a book.

“Sheetal?”

She jerks at my voice and looks at me with pain.

“What happened? What are you reading at this hour which has got that scary look on your face?”

I snatch the book from her and realize it’s the book she is studying on about these supernatural black powers and how it all works.

“Oh God, Sheetal, you should now seriously stop reading such stuff. At least not today when you are getting married.”

“NK..” she sobs. “It’s.. It’s not over..”

Chapter 54

Arnav’s POV

I collapse on the floor, feeling my heart beating achingly slow. I’m aware Chandrika is still chanting the mantras to get me in control. I can feel that I’m no more the blue-eyed version of mine, hypnotized by the black spell casted by her. I can’t lose my sight from NK’s phone which is over the top of the table some distance away, where I see Khushi’s lifeless body falling on the ground, with blood oozing out of her wrist. She sacrificed. Her life.. for me.. For her love. That one thought is enough for me to feel out of control. I look at the dark sky above and scream aloud. Harsh winds blow in the area, blurring the visibility. I shout… shout and shout until I decide what I have to do. The lunar eclipse has begun and even if Khushi’s sacrifice might have ended the black spell, I wouldn’t let the woman who is responsible for her death, live anymore. My brothers Akash and NK are lying on the floor, injured by me. Chandrika and her thirst for unnecessary revenge from my family has crossed every limit. This ends today, I promise myself. Rising from the floor, I march towards Chandrika who is deathly scared seeing me coming for her but she doesn't stop chanting. I kick off the wood burning on the floor along with the other items she was throwing in the fire casting the spell on me to control my body. She still thinks she has a chance to control my mind and body? Huh! I destroy everything that Chandrika had so far accumulated in this room to control me. It's like my body is acting on its own. I don’t know if the spell is making me do this or the angst in me that Chandrika killed my wife. Once I destroy everything else, I turn to Chandrika again. I’m not raised to hurt or kill anyone and definitely not a woman, but Chandrika is an exception for me tonight. Though she is too old to fight me physically, I pull her up and pin her to the pillar behind, holding a knife in my hand to take her life. She keeps continuing her chanting of dark mantras which has begun to annoy me now. So I shut her mouth with my palm and lean over her ears to whisper.

Chapter 53

Khushi’s POV

The Raizada family had joined me too when I received the video call from Nandakishore. We all wanted to see how they trap Chandrika and make her reveal the way to break the spell. But now realizing Arnav has lost the Raksha Dhaaga from his arm and is now transformed into that evil blue-eyed version of him which Chandrika is controlling, I start losing hope. NK keeps the phone in a way where we can witness what is happening there while he continues to fight with Arnav who punches Akash hard.

“Bhai, don’t..” Akash pleads but nothing works.

NK tries to stop Chandrika from continuing chanting the mantras but she pushes him away with a force that hurts his leg. Mohan sets himself free and soon starts hitting NK. The scene is a mess.

“Oh my God. What is happening there?” Daadi screams as she sees the live video of Arnav who is now hurting NK whereas Akash is dealing with Mohan, trying to overpower him.

Arnav’s POV

Kali Bawdi, the scariest deserted fort area in the outskirts of Delhi, is where Chandrika has been hiding all his long? Its freaking me out even thinking what else she would be doing at the moment to get a control on me. NK and Akash are on calls with the police to try locating Chandrika but I have told them not to make her alert that we are aware of her location.. not until I decide how to end all this. I’m aware the Lunar eclipse is only 12 hours away from happening which means we don’t have much time to put an end to the spell somehow.

“Shyam,” Di’s voice breaks my trance. She reaches him and tugs at his shirt. “Why did you do all this? You played me with them?”

“I played you?” he scoffs. “Anjali, you have been playing with the family’s feelings right from your childhood.”

“They are not my family.” She snaps.

Anjali’s POV

Maa is angry. Of course she is, because I failed in doing the task she assigned me today.

“How could you defy my orders?” she shouts at me over the phone. “Controlling Arnav’s mind is very important because the eclipse is nearing. Why didn’t you feed him the spiked parathas?”

“Because Shyam insisted on having it too. I couldn’t risk his life,” I shout back. “You know if he had eaten those, it would have any adverse reactions on his body. I couldn’t let that happen.”

“So what Anju?” Maa yells again. “We have to offer sacrifices to achieve our real goals.

“Not Shyam, Maa” I scowl. “He is my husband.”

“Husband? What about my husband whom the Raizadas killed? Your father, Anju.. Couldn’t you sacrifice for him? For avenging his death?”

I don’t say a word. Yes, I want to avenge but not Shyam.. never Shyam. Maa reads my silence and exhales angrily.

Arnav’s POV

I open the door, finding Di staring at me. Everytime I see her these days I feel deceived and cheated. But I can’t show that off on my face so I fake a smile.

“What happened Di?”

She tries to look in my eyes, trying to read my face too but I don’t give her anything that can make her suspect me.

“Chotte, I saw a bad dream and thought of checking on you.” She palms my cheek. It’s a cold lie. She is here in my room because of her suspicions.

I fist my fingers as Di palms my cheek. It’s so hard to believe that she is the same woman I have respected and loved so much since my childhood. After Maa, I considered her to be my mentor, and she was always there to support me in every decision of my life. Now that I know her true colors, I can’t stand her even for a second. Especially after knowing what she did with Khushi. she tried to hurt my wife.. the woman I love and I’ll never forget Di for that.

Chapter 49

Anjali’s POV

Chandrika is my mother… My blood mother and it took me years to believe in that fact. I was too young and fond of the Raizada family until one day, when I met this woman, Chandrika who told me that she was my real mother and Raizadas were our enemy who had killed my father. I couldn’t believe it at first but then I met my twin brother Mohan and realized we both had a birth mark on our back at the same spot. It took me enormous courage to finally agree to my real mother before I joined hands with her to destroy the Raizada family. I didn’t want to even stay with the Raizadas knowing I wasn’t a part of them but that was the only way my mother could access this place as she needed some insider who could guide her on the inside details of the family. I was her only guide.

Chapter 48

Khushi’s POV

I cry happy tears as Arnav scoops me in his arms and keeps showering kisses on my face.

“I knew you were fine…I knew it..” He keeps murmuring while kissing all over my face. I don’t care if we are embarrassing his siblings and Sheetal who are witnessing this scene.

“What. What are you doing here?” He asks and that’s when I freeze. Should I tell him what we found here? I know he is wearing this Raksha Dhaga and Chandrika wouldn’t be able to sense where he is or what he hears but can I take that risk?

“Arnav… I …. Can’t..”

“Fine..” he nods.. “No pressure. I know its hard to trust me after what I did to you..”

“No,” I clutch his hands which are still cupping my face. “You didn’t do anything. You didn’t push me into that well, Arnav. Please don’t think you are responsible for it.”

Chapter 47

Khushi’s POV

Coming back here to Sheesh Mahal is not easy after what happened with me but it was necessary. NK and Akash are waiting for me and Sheetal at the garage entry. They are hiding in the dark because they cannot let Arnav or Anjali see us here. Shyam has been told to ensure Anjali Di doesn't come out of her room and if she happens to do so, he will call on Akash or NK’s number instantly to make sure we abort this search. Under no circumstance we can let her know we have got to know about this secret door and we have the key to open it.

“Bhabhi,” Akash sighs in hope. But he is equally worried. “They shouldn’t see you here or else this entire mission will fail.”

“He is right,” NK adds. “Give us the key and we will check what’s behind that door and report you.”

Khushi’s POV

It’s hard to be away from Arnav, and not knowing how he is doing there without me. I have heard he has stopped looking for me and I wonder why? He didn’t even go to the police station as he was supposed to do like Shyam Jeejaji had told us two days back. I do get every update from Shyam about Arrnav but they are all very superficial. He can tell me how Arnav is doing on the outside but I can sense he is broken from the inside and is missing me badly. Even when he is under Chandrika’s spell, Arnav could sense my pain in my tears, then how could he even assimilate his thoughts that I am no more in his life?

“Khushi,” Sheetal nudges me gently to break my trance. “You okay?”

I pass a soft nod before turning away. My health is much better now and my wounds are healing.

“I know you are missing him, Khushi. But..”

“He needs me, Sheetal.” A tear falls down my eye. “He needs me by his side. I can’t even imagine what he is going through in Sheesh Mahal without me.”

Sheetal presses my arm.

Khushi’s POV

Its’s a dark well and I am still trying to breathe as I fall down, deep inside, with only Anjali Di’s laughs echoing in my ears.

I wake up in a jolt. My body aching terribly by the pain. Where I am? I look around. It’s still dark around me. Am I alive? Or dead? Hey devi maiyaa.. The moment I chant this name, I see a light and I have to blink hard to see whats happening. Babuji reaches me.

“Babuji?” I gasp. What is he doing in the well?

“Khushi.. how are you feeling now? You should lie down. You need rest.”

Arnav’s POV

I wake up at the noise around me. It’s Akash’s voice and then NK’s. The moment I open my eyes, I see them surrounding my bed.

“What… what are you two doing here?” I ask curiously to my brothers.

“Bhai. Where is Khushi Bhabhi?” Akash queries.

I look at the other side of the bed. She is not here.

“What time is it? She must be down. Why?”

“Bhai it’s 10:00 in the morning and we have looked for her almost everywhere in Sheesh Mahal, but we can’t find her.”

The moment they say this I am alarmed.

Chapter 43

Khushi’s POV

Arnav continues to chant some spell looking at the key and I am sure he is soon going to destroy it. If I go back to call the rest of the family, it might be too late to save the key from being destroyed. I have to find another way. I look around for something which I can use to stop Arnav and there, I see a vessel filled with water. Without wasting another second, I run there and grab the vessel in my hand. Arnav is about to put the key in the fire when I instantly pour all the water on the fire, extinguishing it. That one action from me fumes him, and the next minute, his deadly blue eyes meet mine. He rises up on his feet, angrily, the key still in his fist.

“Arnav,” I shout.. “Give me that key..”

He doesn't say a word but keeps striding towards it. I step behind. The way he is looking at me with fury proves its Chandrika controlling his moves.

“Arnav please… That key is important to us.. I am sure it is which is why Chandrika wants to destroy it. Please give me the key, Arnav.”

“Eem. Bhreem… kreem… naash.. vinaash… kreem..”

“Eem. Bhreem… kreem… naash.. vinaash… kreem..”

I continue humming the spell wearing my regular black attire, sitting before the fire of the devil, and a bowl of blood, my own blood which I had mixed with the image of Arnav Singh Raizada. He is one who is going to bring doom to his own family. I laugh heartily continuing to chant the spell, circling a bone of the remains of Arnav’s twin brother who had died the very night he was born, around the small eight inch statue doll I have created out of Arnav Singh Raizada’s belongings. It was easy.. Very easy to gain his stuff considering he was here with his family in Sheesh Mahal. The Mahal… which I could have ruled had his father chosen me.

Khushi’s POV

I bring Daadi along the next day to meet Sheetal in the guest house where she has been living from the past few days. Daadi is ecstatic to meet her as soon as I introduce them.

“I had so much faith in your grandfather Yogiji,” Daadi mentions with teary eyes. “He literally saved us for all these years by locking up chandrika’s spell in that basement but Arnav by opening those doors, have literally ruined all his efforts.”

“It’s not his fault, Daadi,” Sheetal mentions. “And some way or the other, this had to happen. Chandrika is a very strong woman and if she is still alive, she has practiced the black magic techniques in ways we cannot even imagine.”

“And her first target will be me..” I add, stunning the two women.

“What? You?” Daadi snaps. “How can you be so sure?”

“Then whose child was she carrying in her womb, Daadi?” I bark.

“I don’t know his name… I don’t know anything about him.”

She tries to leave the temple room but seeing her hesitation in answering I am sure she knows something and is still hiding it from me.

“You will lose your grandson if you don’t tell me, Daadi. Are you willing to sacrifice him for concealing the bitter truth of the past?”

She stops in her tracks but doesn't turn around and I hope at least now she is going to give me some clue so that I start hunting in the right direction…

“Don’t say that” She scoffs at me, turning around. “Nothing will happen to Arnav.”

“Not if you tell me the entire truth…” I demand reaching her. “Do you even realize had you opened up about the secrets of this family before, we could have done a lot more to save Arnav by now.”

I grip her arms.

“Every second of your delay in telling me what the entire truth to Chandrika’s story is, is wasting my time in looking for clues Daadi. I want to save my husband and I’ll not mind to put up a fight with anyone from this family who is standing in my way.”

Chapter 39

Khushi’s POV

Chandrika has casted spell on Arnav through his dead twin brother who had blue eyes. That’s a kind of black magic spell which she did when Arnav’s mother gave birth to twins. But it’s not possible that the family never knew that she had delivered twin babies. At least Daadi should have known. Why did she never tell this to anyone from the next generation like Arnav, his cousin brothers or to Anjali? I need these answers to get into the root of the problem and that reminds me I have to now look for those proofs in the basement again.

With all these thoughts in the back of my mind, when I return home, I see Arnav busy packing stuff. He didn’t go to work today? And why is he packing bags?

“What is all this?” I ask him. “Are we going anywhere?”

He doesn't speak a word and continues to pack. The way he is packing its like we are moving from Sheesh Mahal, forever.

“Arnav, whats going on?” I block his way to the closet.

Arnav’s POV

“You took my blood sample?” I connect the dots.

Khushi swallows nervously.

“How? Making me unconscious?” I glare at her. “That Almond milk was spiked?”

She is about to explain but the moment I realize whatever I am suspecting is true, I push her away and get down the bed.

“Arnav please, don’t misunderstand me.”

She blocks my way.

“Misunderstand?” He grabs my arms. “you are spiking my drink, taking out my blood.. without my permission? For what dammit?”

“To save you..” she snaps.

“Save me?” I groan. “From whom?”
