Chapter 41
Khushi’s POV
I bring Daadi along the next day to meet Sheetal in the guest house where she has been living from the past few days. Daadi is ecstatic to meet her as soon as I introduce them.
“I had so much faith in your grandfather Yogiji,” Daadi mentions with teary eyes. “He literally saved us for all these years by locking up chandrika’s spell in that basement but Arnav by opening those doors, have literally ruined all his efforts.”
“It’s not his fault, Daadi,” Sheetal mentions. “And some way or the other, this had to happen. Chandrika is a very strong woman and if she is still alive, she has practiced the black magic techniques in ways we cannot even imagine.”
“And her first target will be me..” I add, stunning the two women.
“What? You?” Daadi snaps. “How can you be so sure?”
Now its high time I reveal them the other part of the truth related to Chandrika which I have managed to hide from them so far.
“Chandrika is my mother’s twin sister”
The moment I say this, both Sheetal and Daadi stare at me horrified.
“Trust me Daadi, I got to know this much later. In fact just few days back when I searched for some clue in the basement of Sheesh Mahal, I found a photo which was similar to my mother’s face and it had the name ‘Chandrika’ on it. So, I confronted my father and he told me the past.”
Soon I share everything Babuji told me about Chandrika and what he had heard about her.
“But Khushi, how can you say that her first target will be you?” Sheetal queries.
“Because I think she knows my mother has left the clue to end that spell she has casted on Arnav.”
“What?” they both shout together.
“My mother had saved a box for me ever since she knew she was going to die and she had told my father to give it to me on my wedding day. Like me, she too got premonitions of future. I think she was well aware that in future, I was going to be the bride of Sheesh Mahal and which is why she left this box for me.”
“Box?” Daadi is still confused.
“Yes, Daadi and Babuji had given it to me when I got married to Arnav. I even opened it on our wedding night and it had a key.. A very special key with a rich gemstone on it.”
They both look clueless at me.
“I had kept it in the bedside drawer and since then I lost it. We need to find that key, Daadi because if my mother has left that for me, it surely is the key to save Arnav.”
Sheetal nods in agreement.
“But who would hide that key? Could it be Arnav?” Daadi inquires.
“Maybe or someone who is working in Sheesh Mahal for Chandrika.” Sheetal adds.
“We have to find it at any cost.” I mention anxiously because I have this strong suspicion that apart from Arnav no one can hide that key from me. “But daadi, what can that key be for? I mean, the basement door is already open now so this can’t be the basement key. Is there anything related to the past that the key could open up? Like some secret door… closet… or some box?”
Daadi tries to recollect but is not able to relate anything.
“I think we have to look for the clue in the basement only and we have to do this tonight.” Daadi mentions and I totally agree to that. We can’t delay this than it already has.
“Yes, Khushi because if my predictions are right, in the next seven days, Chandrika is going to completely takeover Arnav’s mind and saving him from becoming her playtoy will be difficult there on.”
“Seven days?” Me and Daadi both ask together.
Sheetal shows us some calendar which has some numbers written on it in different fashion.
"This is a vedic calendar which was used to find when the eclipse and the effects of it. If you see, in seven days we have a lunar eclipse coming which means the moon will be teh darkest as it passes the shadow of earth and this is exactly when such spells casted will be at its highest intensity. A person affected by such spell can be completely controlled and they either self-hurt or hurt the people who tries to challenge them. Chandrika can either target Arnav or Khushi on the seventh day if we don’t find some clue to stop her.”
I am shocked and nervous knowing all this from her. Before we come to some conclusion, NK and Akash enters the guest house.
“We have a clue who might be helping Chandrika from Sheesh Mahal” NK says but more than that I am confused what Akash is doing here.
“Akash?” I nervously stare at NK who sighs. “Sorry Bhabhi but without Akash’s support we couldn’t have found this. So, I had to tell him everything.”
“And it’s hard to believe” Akash mutters. “But knowing you all, I can sense the gravity of the situation and I can’t stop myself from contributing. We all love Bhai and we can do anything to make sure he comes out unscathed from the clutches of that witch.”
Witch!! That’s exactly what Chandrika is. NK shows us some data of the servants working in Sheesh Mahal. He then zones out to three people.
“These three here.. Om Prakash, Jai Prakash and Hari Prakash are the ones who have worked for us from the longest period. Ever since the time we weren’t even born.”
“So?” I don’t get them.
“So, most of the other servants are hired by them and when we confronted about knowing the details of everyone who are working with us, they could give us details of everyone except one man. That’s him.”
He shows us another picture of our servant. He is around Arnav’s age or a year or two elder. I have seen him in the house and wait.. he is Arnav’s driver.
“His name is Mohan and he is our driver.” NK adds.
“But how can you be so sure its him helping Chandrika?” Daadi queries.
“Daadi, I have been suspicious on Mohan from quite some time.” Akash mentions. “He is always more than willing to be Bhai’s driver than anyone else in the family. He literally knows when Bhai goes to office, what time he returns and that night when Bhai drank coffee at odd hours, we checked the CCTV cameras, it was Mohan in the kitchen where he shouldn’t have been at all in the first place. Maybe he did spiked Bhai’s coffee to make Chandrika control his mind and Bhai attacked on Bhabhi that night.”
I am shocked but yes, I had to tell this to NK and Daadi what had happened in our bedroom and how Chandrika through Arnav had warned me to destroy the family one by one.
“And one more thing..” NK adds. “He was the one who drove you and Bhai to Delhi for Bhai’s meeting and we checked his phone records, he was the one who called Bhai after the conference and probably also triggered Bhai through some mantras to make sure Bhai hurts himself and loses blood which could be a kind of sacrifice on that no moon night.”
Oh my God! Mohan had called up Arnav that day? That’s why Arnav looked so casual as if he was speaking to someone from the family on phone. I know how much Arnav cares for all the servants and specially Mohan because he always drives him safe.
“So this guy Mohan according to the Prakash brothers acts weird. He is always going out to meet someone every weekend and when asked whom he goes to meet, he says its none of their business.”
“Maybe be goes to meet his family” Daadi mentions.
“That can’t be true because Mohan while joining this job had mentioned he was an orphan and had no one to look upon in terms of family. On that basis only the Prakash brothers had hired him and gave him the driver’s position.”
“When is his next leave?” I ask curiously.
“Tomorrow,” Akash mentions. “He will again go to meet whoever he does everytime nad we are going to follow him.”
“Yes..” Daadi agrees. “We should follow him. If he is anywhere related to Chandrika then we might get to know where she is and only then we can do something to destroy the spell she has casted on Arnav.”
Akash and NK nods.
“We both will keep an eye on him.”
“Great..” I am glad to have more helping hand in this regards. “And I will find some luck in the basement tonight.”
“Only if Bhai doesn't get suspicious..” NK warns.
“He is right, Khushi.” Sheetal adds further. “If Arnav gets suspicious you are looking for something there, Chandrika will get cautious too and he will try to harm you. We can’t take that risk.”
I am so annoyed at this. I want to do so much more to help my husband, yet my hands are tied.
“For now I suggest we just follow Mohan and try to see if he is connected to Chandrika somehow. If we fail to trace that link, then we will find the clues in the basement, including the key that Khushi seems to have lost.” Sheetal plans everything.
We all agree to do as told and get back to our respective roles by heading to Sheesh Mahal.

The moment I say this, both Sheetal and Daadi stare at me horrified.
“Trust me Daadi, I got to know this much later. In fact just few days back when I searched for some clue in the basement of Sheesh Mahal, I found a photo which was similar to my mother’s face and it had the name ‘Chandrika’ on it. So, I confronted my father and he told me the past.”
Soon I share everything Babuji told me about Chandrika and what he had heard about her.
“But Khushi, how can you say that her first target will be you?” Sheetal queries.

“What?” they both shout together.

So now they have just seven days to find out chandrika and her spell before the eclipse.. hope they find something soon.. they've been planning things out since long it's time they execute it before it's too late.. I feel Khushi should have gone to the basement to get some clue instead of waiting longer as its already too late in that matter

ReplyDeleteAwesome Update. Chandrika is growing more dangerous. Khushi finally revealed the truth to Daadi and Sheetal. The key which Khushi's mom left is lost and it had huge significance in protecting Arnav. Somebody from the family stole it from the drawer who is working for Chandrika. Arnav can also be the person Poor Arnav he has no idea what's happening with him. Khushi suspicion on Arnav can be correct as Arnav is in control of Chandrika . Arnav will be in complete control of Chandrika after 7days so Khushi has little time. Also Lunar eclipse is there when evil grow more powerful.Nice to see Akash's involvement in helping Khushi. Arnav's driver is involved with Chandrika and naturally Arnav will trust him . But why the driver is helping Chandrika when Arnav's behavior is nice with him. Hope Akash get some clue following the driver. Hope through the driver or from the basement they get some clue. Thanks for the Update.Waiting for the next part😍
ReplyDeleteMohan is the black sheep that works for Chandrika. Maybe he is Chandrika's son because she was pregnant even before Arnav's father marriage and if he is 2 years elder than Arnav then he is definitely Chandrika's son. It's going great by each update.
