Chapter 49
Anjali’s POV
Chandrika is my mother… My blood mother and it took me years to believe in that fact. I was too young and fond of the Raizada family until one day, when I met this woman, Chandrika who told me that she was my real mother and Raizadas were our enemy who had killed my father. I couldn’t believe it at first but then I met my twin brother Mohan and realized we both had a birth mark on our back at the same spot. It took me enormous courage to finally agree to my real mother before I joined hands with her to destroy the Raizada family. I didn’t want to even stay with the Raizadas knowing I wasn’t a part of them but that was the only way my mother could access this place as she needed some insider who could guide her on the inside details of the family. I was her only guide.
The basement of Sheesh Mahal was locked up but my mother Chandrika stole the key from Yogiji’s ashram without his knowledge and since then, my she has been doing a lot many rituals at the basement room of Sheesh Mahal and she taught me too a few. Learning the dark magic, gave me a different strength… a power I never knew I could master and which could help my mother control people’s mind, their body and their actions. The head of the Raizada family, Arnav’s grandfather was ill and once he saw me doing these rituals in the basement, the way my mother Chandrika had taught me and was preparing me for the future. Seeing my mother alive and teaching me all this black magic, he was terrified and tried calling for his family. That was the day I used my power to control his mind. The only way to keep him from opening up this secret to the rest of the family was to kill him and it had to look like a natural death so my mother Chandrika made him drink poison and he died on the spot.
That day I saw the satisfaction and a strange madness in my mother’s eyes that she could kill the man who was responsible for my father’s death. But her mission was to destroy the entire family such that even the existence is completely eradicated. The Raizada’s thought it was a natural death too and then after a few days they planned to settle down forever in London. Now, came the most difficult part. I couldn’t stay back and had to leave with them. But since my mother Chandrika had to keep a control on the family so that the spell she casted didn’t lose its effect, she put mannequins in the basement which resembled each member of the family so that even in our absence, she could still continue keeping the spell casted, intact.
Though I was raised in London thereafter, I was still connected to my mother through secret phone calls and she coaxed me to be close to Arnav because he was the one who was the prime source of the spell. Only he could bring the destruction of the Raizada family as his twin’s ashes were used to cast the magic on the entire Raizada family.
It was me who coaxed Daadi when we all grew up to get back to India for the Mahapuja where we all grandchildren could also participate. She was looking for a bride for Arnav and I had to ensure the one she fixes is someone whom my mother Chandrika could easily control too. But then we met Khushi and when Daadi insisted on making her Arnav’s bride and the Bride of Sheesh Mahal, I immediately informed Maa. When she got to know Khushi was her sister Garima’s daughter, Maa didn’t want that marriage to take place considering Garima used to get premonitions and was a great devotee of Devi Maiyaa whose traits were passed on to Khushi as well. But the whole family was so much in support of bringing Khushi into the family that I couldn’t deny them or be the odd man out. We tried to control Khushi’s mind but it was next to impossible since she was always secured and protected by the Raksha Dhaga which she tied on her body every time. Time was running out since Arnav and the rest of the family had no plans to stay back for long in Sheesh Mahal and return to London. None of us could affirm when we would return back so that Maa could take her revenge through Arnav so this was the only chance we didn’t want to lose.
The day Arnav got married and the Bride of Sheesh Mahal stepped in here, Maa started strengthening the spell to ensure that Arnav and Khushi don’t consummate. Under no circumstance we could afford Arnav to procreate or else the spell would break. So far, each Raizada member was a part of the spell and if a new member of Raizada blood was born, it would be enough to act as the tool to break the entire spell. Fortunately, we could create some instances turning off the lights of Sheesh Mahal and diverting everyone’s attention to that issue at night. Khushi was scared of dark and it would only mean she wouldn’t let Arnav get close to her much. But this didn’t work for long. Khushi started investigating the issues and one by one she was affirmed that there was some major problem with the Sheesh Mahal, especially the basement area.
And one sudden morning, seeing the glow on Khushi’s face, the family got to know they had consummated their marriage. It was a big blow to our plans and Maa decided to finally put an end to this family’s existence by intensifying the spell. Controlling Arnav, even when he was in Delhi with Khushi for work, was easy. All I had to do was say a few mantras which could hypnotize him even if I said that to him on call and he banged his fist on the glass wall bruising himself. It was all we needed on that no moon night to bring the spell into the forefront. We kept performing black rituals, bringing his blue-eyed version into existence, to scare Khushi off but she was too smart to know and find out that my mother was alive and that it was her controlling Arnav. That’s when we decided to kill Khushi first.
We had no idea Khushi possessed some key with her which she was even trying to protect. But the day I saw her frantically searching for it and even asking Arnav if he had seen anything like that, I realized it was something which could be used against my mother to break the spell. When I told my mother Chandrika about it, she managed to control Arnav’s mind using her spell and then we found the key. Initially, we had plans to destroy this key so that whatever Khushi planned for us would never work. But then I clicked few images of it and sent to Maa and it was that time when she realized that key held another importance altogether. It seems she had lost the key years ago to her twin sister Garima, who had seen Maa performing the black ritual of casting the spell on the Raizadas to destroy them all and kill them one by one through someone from their own blood. This key could open the door of that same secret room in the garage where the roots of my mother’s black spell on the Raizadas is. If me or my mother try to burn it, the spell will be weakened. Only the Raizada blood destroying it will intensify the black magic we have casted on them. That’s exactly why Maa decided to make Arnav do it. But then that Khushi came in the basement from nowhere and snatched it away before he could burn this piece of metal.
I stare at the key, the one which I had managed to trick Khushi giving me before I pushed her into the well. I’d kept it safe in my locker but now the time has come when this key can be put to use. That night, after pushing Khushi in the well, and safeguarding this key, I had a word with Maa over the phone call when she told me the significance of this key and that room and asked me to keep it safe until her next command. So today, finally, since Khushi is out of our lives, and the lunar eclipse is nearing in two days, Maa wants me to open that door using this key and spill some black water on every pillar in that room which has a picture of each members of the Raizada family so that our spell could work on them so badly that none of them would be spared from the spell’s ultimate result – death!!
Since Shyam is sleeping peacefully, I quickly make my way to the backyard and head straight to the dark garage where this secret room is. It’s been years since Maa was looking for this key to open that room. But since it was missing and Garima died, giving us no clue what she had done with the key after snatching it from my mother years ago, we had to perform all the black spell from the basement of Sheesh Mahal. Not anymore. I make my way inside to reach the secret room as per Maa’s instructions and even find the door but when I try to open it using this key, it doesn't open. I call Maa immediately on her number.
“Maa, its not opening. The door is not opening.”
“It’s not possible, try again.”
“I tried thrice. What if… what if this is the wrong key?” I ask in worry.
“How’s that possible? We had this key in your locker, didn’t we?”
“Yes, but.. what if.. someone knows I was the one who pushed Khushi in the well and that same person took this key from my locker?”
“Anjali..” she shouts at me. “How can you be so reckless. We can’t afford anyone from the Raizadas to know what we plan to do on the lunar eclipse..”
This is the first time Maa is so annoyed with me.
“Keep an eye on Arnav… I was already suspecting how can be so quiet and not look for Khushi anymore. For some reason, I cannot even get into his head and control it to know what’s happening. This never happened before. Go find out what is he hiding.”
“I will” I disconnect the call and make my way back into the palace.

Khushi’s POV
It feels so good to be back in my bedroom. I had missed staying here with Arnav in the last week and now that we were so close again, I couldn’t wait to spend some time with my husband who was still in dilemma why all this was happening and if there was really any solution to this spell which Chandrika had casted. When I come out taking a quick shower, I see Arnav standing at the huge glass window in his night pants and semi-sleeved T-shirt looking utterly confused and in pain. I know its hard for him to know that the woman he believed is his elder sister doesn't belong to this family and she even tried to kill me. It will take months for Arnav to make peace with that fact. I also pity Shyam who is so much love with Anjali Di that he wouldn’t be able to live without her either. But for now, without any delay, I reach Arnav and hug him from behind, resting my cheek on his back. I want him to believe we will together fix this with Devi Maiyaa’s blessings. He grabs my arms and turning around, pulls me into his embrace. Without a word exchange, or any gestures, just our mere touch on each other is enough to give us some solace. He keeps tugging me closer to his body, as if believing my presence again in his life. My arms soothe his back, clutching hard on his T-Shirt. Soon the emotional moment turns into a passionate one as I want to feel him up without any barriers of clothes, pain or the worries that’s looming around us. I tug on his T-shirt to take it off his chest when Arnav grabs my arms to stop me. He looks nervously in my eyes.
“You survived a major accident of falling in the well. You need to rest, Khushi” he tells me.
“I have rested enough, now all I want is my husband and his love. I can survive without resting but not without you.”
His soft grin is back. I’m glad I could make him smile again with my boldness. Before he changes his mind, or coaxes me to rest some more, I again reach for his T-shirt and about to pull it when the door knocks.
“Chotte?”
We both freeze at Anjali Di’s voice from outside the door. Arnav quickly drags me and hides me behind the thick curtains.
“Stay here.. I’ll be back,” he commands before hurrying back to open the door.
Arnav is about to open the door when I reach him and pull him back. He is confused but when he sees me moving the Raksha Dhaga from his wrist to his upper arm and hiding it under the sleeves of his T-Shirt, he realizes why I did so. We can’t let Anjali see this on his arm or else she might get suspicious.
“Send her off soon,” I whisper into his ears, ignoring the second time banging of the door from Anjali.
Arnav probably sees the desperation to be in his arms and then grabs me for a quick cheek kiss before I push him and make my way to hide behind the thick curtains. No matter what Anjali or Chandrika has planned, we are going to win against them.
To be Continued.

Awesome Update.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Update. Khushi will definitely defeat the evil. Chandrika brainwashed Anjali. Anjali interrupted Arshi's romance but Khushi smartly hide the Raksha Dhaga by changing it's place. Arshi though are together but Arnav is in pain because of Anjali. Chandrika asked Anjali to keep an eye on Arnav. Now Arshi has to meet secretly in Sheesh Mahal. Anjali and Chandrika has harmed Arshi enough . Now it's Arshi's turn . Thanks for the Update😍😍
ReplyDeleteOh my god! The mystery unraveling is very thrilling. Awesome. I want to be convinced that Arnav is going to stay with Kushi but there is this weird feeling. Hmmmm Madhu help me get rid of it😊. ❤️ Fiddy
ReplyDeleteAnjali is being ridiculous. She’s going to regret for doing all this crap to the family that raised her. I feel bad for Shyam!
ReplyDeleteMany many things have revealed. That’s great. Hope anjali will not be forgiven.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cruel anjali !! Hope she gets played till end and killed by her own mother , I want her to get betrayed by her own mother ...
ReplyDeleteAnjali your all plans are going to fail now onwards.
ReplyDeleteWow I can't believe anjali is so evil to have helped chandrika murder dadi husband and now she with her mother wants to destroy people who actually care about her and treat her as their own
ReplyDeleteHow easy it was for anjali to let go of all the unconditional love, care and affection of the family of decades just for the sake the supposed evil mother of the recent. Its natural for her to be drawn and believe her real mother and her words but that didn't mean to turn all against the other family members who actually never gave you a chance to go all witchy against them. How can she forget her emotions towards her family, the morals, values and good qualities given by the family. She was big and mature enough to know the difference between right and wrong, good and bad and still she chooses the wrong side by her own will. So, i hope even after all of this she shouldn't be forgiven, ever, in the end and have her happily ever after with her family, like all other previous stories. A murderer she is.
ReplyDeleteWonderful fabulous awesome update dear
