Chapter 53


Khushi’s POV


The Raizada family had joined me too when I received the video call from Nandakishore. We all wanted to see how they trap Chandrika and make her reveal the way to break the spell. But now realizing Arnav has lost the Raksha Dhaaga from his arm and is now transformed into that evil blue-eyed version of him which Chandrika is controlling, I start losing hope. NK keeps the phone in a way where we can witness what is happening there while he continues to fight with Arnav who punches Akash hard.

“Bhai, don’t..” Akash pleads but nothing works.

NK tries to stop Chandrika from continuing chanting the mantras but she pushes him away with a force that hurts his leg. Mohan sets himself free and soon starts hitting NK. The scene is a mess.

“Oh my God. What is happening there?” Daadi screams as she sees the live video of Arnav who is now hurting NK whereas Akash is dealing with Mohan, trying to overpower him.

Chandrika is busy chanting the dark mantras to give more power to this blue-eyed version of Arnav who is beating NK furiously. Though NK is trying to defend himself, Arnav is too powerful.

“Somebody do something..” Daadi shouts again, crying witnessing the scene before her.

Payal and her father and my Babuji are doing the Maha Puja to let Devi Maiyaa’s blessings on our family whereas Sheetal is on call with Shyam asking him to speed up reaching Kali Bawdi with the police for additional support and get the situation under control. Though I don’t think it will be of any help. My vision blurs by the tears flowing continuously from my eyes. Ten more minutes and the lunar eclipse will fall. None of us know what would be the consequences of that. Even if Chandrika now gets arrested, will I lose my husband forever to her dark magic? No.. I can’t lose hope. The spell has to be broken and I’m ready to do everything in my power to ensure that happens. Blood… Chandrika or Arnav’s blood.. At the same spot where the spell was casted. That’s the only way to break it. How? How? And while I stare at the phone screen which is still showing the live video of how Arnav is physically hurting his brothers, I try not to let that heart shattering scene divert my mind. Anjali.. She has Chandrika’s bloodline.. But she is not here. She’s under medical supervision in police custody. I can’t bring her here.. I cry the hell out for being so miserable at the moment. My whole world is coming crashing down and I can’t save it from the doom. I can’t..

Hey Devi Maiyaa. Please show me a way..

And just when I shut my eyes, I see my mother’s image before my eyes. My mother? Chandrika’s twin.. Same Bloodline..

Without a second thought, I run outside, as fast as I can towards the garage where the secret room is. The place where Chandrika had casted the spell decades ago. It was time I, the bride of Sheesh Mahal puts an end to it.


I fumble with the key to that room, the one which my mother had left for me. Probably her premonitions had shown her this day that I would be the one to end this dark spell which her twin sister will cast upon the Raizada family. I manage to push the door open unlocking it and then step inside.


“Khushi don’t” Sheetal shouts running behind me. She followed me here with the live video which was still on from NK’s side. “What are you doing?”

“I can end this, Sheetal.”


I look frantically around only to find some sharp object to prick my skin and shed my blood.

“You can’t put your life at risk. The spell doesn't work that way,” she shouts at me. “It should be either Chandrika’s blood or Arnav’s. Please stop this madness.”


I find it. A blade.. Sheetal stops me from grabbing it and turns me around to face her.


“We are not talking about a few droplets of blood here, Khushi. The spell demands a sacrifice. You’ll have to die if you have to break this spell. Do you hear me?”


Tears spring in my eyes again but I smile.

“If my death breaks the spell casted on my husband, I will happily die.”

“Don’t..” she sobs. This is the first time she is so emotional and in tears for me. “Chandrika deserves to die Khushi not you.”

“But we can’t bring her here… can we?” I shout. “Let me do this, Sheetal. I want to save Arnav. I love him.. He would do the same for me had it been him in my place.”

“Don’t..” she shouts.. “I’ll not let you do this..”


She is wasting my time. I realize there is only two more minutes for the eclipse. No one knows what will happen if the spell doesn't break before that. I push Sheetal away from me so hard that she falls on the ground. The mobile slips from her hand but she manages to grab it again. The live video is still on it but this time both NK and Akash are fighting against Arnav. Mohan is somewhere on the floor, injured but he could wake up any moment. Chandrika is loudly chanting the mantras. I run to the spot where she had casted the spell using Arnav’s twin brother’s ashes and bones.


“Arnav… Khushi is sacrificing for you..” Sheetal shouts pointing the phone screen towards me.


I turn to see him on the phone and that very moment, Arnav stops fighting and looks at NK’s phone screen. Akash and NK take a short relief to compose themselves. Despite being so far from me, I can see tears glistening in his eyes. I know somewhere within that blue-eyed Arnav’s evil form is my husband who loves me and can’t see me dying.


“I choose you over life, Arnav…” I mutter before cutting the vein of my arm.

“KHUSHIIIIIIIIIIII” He screams aloud trying to reach the phone but I collapse down.. My eyes are burning and closing down fast. I see Sheetal rushing to me and Arnav…. He falls down there too.. He… falls…
