Chapter 32


Arnav’s POV


Me kissing Khushi Gupta in the club last night was like a dream come true. Nothing about the kiss can ever leave my mind. The way her soft skin squirmed when my rough palm grazed on her smooth legs, still brings shivers in my body. Though she pretended to be normal after that, I knew she was as affected as I was at that moment. But again, I liked how she confided in me if she can shift to another apartment. She didn’t just imposed her decision but waited for my input which was obviously against her wishes and I could convince her to stay with me in AR Mansion because under no circumstance I was ready to risk her life. Today morning when she saw me in the gym, working out, I knew a part of her couldn’t resist me and that was the beauty of our relationship. We were hell more than attracted to each other.

Fire burns in my blood the moment I see Khushi knocking the door of my room and peeping inside.


“How much time do you need to dress up? We have a flight to board, Arnav.”

“Someone is very eager to go on a vacation with me.”


She rolls her eyes opening the door wide.

“Did you pack the sarongs?” I tease further and her eyes almost pop out as her cheeks flush.

“Don’t get any ideas Arnav. We are going there to sort Akash-Lavanya’s issues. Now if you don’t want to miss the flight, come down, or else I am leaving.”


She marches out while I grin dragging my bags and following her. It’s a two hour flight to Goa and we check-in exactly in the same private beach resort where Akash and Lavanya are staying. Our rooms are separate but next to each other. I stare at my key and then shrug with a grin which doesn't go unnoticed by Khushi.


“Why did you give that expression looking at the key?” she asks, as we make our way to the lobby to get into our respective rooms.

“Nothing.”

“Don’t nothing me.. You had something in your mind and being a couple, I need to know what were you thinking?”


I chuckle.

“Did you ask Aman specifically to book two separate rooms for us?” I finally raise my doubt.

She hesitates to respond.

“Come on Khushi Gupta. We are a couple, right? So, I need to know what were you thinking when you asked him to do so?” I repeat the same dialogue she did a minute ago.


She looks away so I continue to drawl.

“It’s not that we didn’t share a room before. We have in Abu Dhabi, remember? And as far as I remember, I could keep my hands off you if that’s what bothered you this time.”

“It’s different this time. We were professionals then… now.. we are a couple.”


Her response brings another grin on my face.

“I see.. so you don’t trust yourself around me.? I get it,” I mock easing her tension.

“God, you and your mischievous talks” she pushes me to the side as we have reached her room. “I am meeting Lavanya in few minutes to talk about this. You go get Akash.”

“On it..” I mutter before sliding the key to my room. But before Khushi enters her room she does look at me and it tells me so much about her feelings. She loves me being mischievous, that’s for sure.

Khushi’s POV

“Why have you called Akash here?”

“To talk, La.. I know you are hurt but whatever this misunderstanding is should be cleared which is why I asked Arnav to bring Akash too and we can discuss and come to some conclusion together.”


Akash and Arnav reach us at the beach, where me and Lavanya had been discussing this matter from past few minutes. The moment I had checked into my room, I didn’t waste time in meeting Lavanya and she was still in a bitter mood and sobbed too while narrating the same incident to me again. Seemed like she had been to look for Akash in the conference room of this resort where they stayed, so as to check with him if he is available for dinner together when she saw another woman, leaning over Akash, touching his shoulder and clinging to his body like he had held her close.


“Hey…” Akash smiles at me and then he looks at Lavanya. “Didn’t realize you would involve them in our mess?”

“Shut up, Akash. Khushi is more of a sister to me and we share everything. I don’t know about you but I needed her support.”

“Support for what? To have a shoulder to cry on?” Akash rebukes. “La we are not even dating yet and you are behaving as if I cheated upon you..”

“Thank God I didn’t propose you yet. Had I known you already like some other woman, I wouldn’t even work for you.”

“I don’t have any other in my life. I am not that kind of a person.” Akash shouts.

“Then who was she?”

“A friend… A very close friend. That’s it.”

“Close friend?” La laughs. “She was touching you..”


Their argument continues in mine and Arnav’s presence. Arnav exhales looking at me. I know he too finds it silly just like I do. But we have no choice. We are here to sort their issues after all.


“I don’t think I did anything wrong. Lavanya is simply over worrying,” Akash debates.

“I am over worrying?” Lavanya scolds. “That day during the shoot when the photographer was flirting with me, you literally packed up the shoot and I didn’t see that photographer again.”

“That’s because I fired him, La.”

“Exactly my point. This is double standards. If someone flirts with me it’s wrong and needs correction but when some woman puts her eyes on you, you want me to trust you?”

“I didn’t say that.” Akash clarifies.

“You meant it..” Lavanya fumes. “You know what Khushi?” she turns to me. “All men are the same. Never trust them.”

“I agree.” I nod patting her arm to cool her down.

“Excuse me?” Arnav scoffs. “What do you mean by you agree? You both can’t generalize that statement alright? And all Akash is asking from Lavanya is trust.”

“Which she can’t, its obvious. Even I wouldn’t have trusted you had I seen a woman touching you inappropriately. In fact, I would have clicked your pictures with her and posted it on all social media sites to show what kind of a man you are.”

“Khushi you are going overboard now.” Arnav snaps. His face has turned red in anger but so be it.


I didn’t realize me and Arnav would end up fighting instead of sorting the problems between Akash and Lavanya.

“Lets go, Khushi. Let these men do whatever hell they want. We have better things to do.”


Lavanya drags me away. Before leaving I don’t miss to see the glare on Arnav’s face as if challenging me not to ignore him unnecessarily.

Arnav’s POV


I hate every bit of Khushi’s behavior tonight when she accused me of being like every other man who cheats on his partner. If only she knew how much I was obsessed with her to even think of any other woman.


After Lavanya and Khushi left, me and Akash came to this shack to enjoy Beer together.

“Who the hell was that woman? The one you call your friend?”

“Malishka.”

My eyes go wide recalling who that woman is.

“She is your EX, Akash.”

“She is and that’s never going to change.”

“Then why the hell was she so close to you? In fact, what is she even doing here in Goa?”

“She happened to come here with her friends and our meet was accidental. That’s it. You know how bad break up we had and it was because of her. she was sorry for the same and wanted me to forgive her. That’s when she just happened to clutch my shoulder and I guess that’s when Lavanya saw it.”


I sigh in disappointment.

“Does Lavanya know she is your ex?”

“No and .. I don’t even think its important anymore. I want my present and future with her. When I am least interested in knowing her past, she too has to ignore mine.”

“Akash, this is where you go wrong.”


I gulp some more beer and put the bottle down.

“Tell her what the truth is. Communication is the key to every relationship..”


Akash swallows painfully.

“We are not even in a relationship yet. Gods sake I didn’t even propose LA for dating me. It’s just like we have an unsaid commitment and she is fuming even over that? I wonder if she was my girlfriend officially how would she react?”

“You don’t want to know that, Akash. We are scared of such women, aren’t we? We Maliks and Raizadas want our woman docile and easy kind but trust me, history has shown none of the women who came into our families ever were that kind. See my mother, she is still giving dad a tough time and Khushi.. I don’t think I have to explain about her dominance..”


Akash laughed.

“So you and Khushi seems pretty serious now, huh?”

“Kind of. Being with her gives me a thrill I cannot explain.. She is everything I despised in my partner yet she is all I want..”

“Lover boy” Akash teases and I groan softly opening another beer bottle.

“But I didn’t like how she generalized me with other men. I am not going to be easy on her for saying that.”

“And just when I was taking up your advice on communication being the key, you are teaching me not to go easy on my partner?” Akash teases.


We both laugh it out. Relationships are always messy but the way we sort out the problems rising in them is what makes that journey beautiful.

Khushi’s POV


I passed another tissue to Lavanya who wiped the corner of her eyes. She wasn’t crying anymore, just wiping of her smudged mascara.

“I am so sorry, Khushi. You came all the way with Arnav here and you two got into an argument because of me.”


I don’t say a word yet. We are both sitting by the pool, with our legs immersed in the water. There’s no one at the swimming pool area of the resort at this hour which is why we could have plenty of time here. None of us wanted to head back to our rooms. My mind still wondered what would Arnav do after he is back with Akash? I know these two men would be out enjoying drinks while me and Lavanya are sulking in here. I agree that argument was silly and I shouldn’t have generalized that statement nor shown distrust on Arnav without any faults of his but it just slipped from my mouth.


“Khushi, say something.” Lavanya shakes me and I just shrug.

“Don’t worry, he’ll be fine. Akash is a dumb head for not proposing you yet so I suggest don’t settle for anything lesser. Your jealousy was right but he is not your Boyfriend yet La..”

“Do you think I didn’t wait for his proposal? He is taking his own sweet time as if he is still thinking if I am the one or not? As if I am asking him for a wedding proposal straight away.”

“Hmm” I nod.

“What do you suggest I do?”

“Say sorry to him.” I blurt out.

“What? Are you serious.?”

“very.. It’s not about who did what? It’s about you lashing a man who hasn’t even shown he is wanting to commit to you. How long will you chase him? I know he wants you but let him say that first. Then you both can fight however hard you want. For now, just go and say sorry to him for being rude and talking about trust when you both are not even dating. That should give him the necessary kick to stop you and do what he hasn’t done yet.. .Propose you.”


Lavanya though didn’t like that idea at first, now she grins.


“Will be really date me for real?”

“He will baby” I pat her cheeks. “He is already fallen for you.. I can see that in his eyes.”


Lavanya giggles.

“And you know what Khushi? If Akash has fallen for me… ASR has FALLEN HEAD OVER HEELS for you. And not just me the whole world can see that in his eyes. But poor him, you annoyed him tonight..”

“I was taking your side” I argue and Lavanya keeps giggling. I join that laugh but is that true? Arnav is really head on heels fallen for me? If that’s so, how am I ever going to calm his anger? I might have to put those Sarongs I packed to use I suppose because just saying Sorry was not my style. He wanted an apology, he would get one in my style.. only when I have screwed his head first by wearing something he has longed to see me in.
