Chapter 14 B
She is not in their bedroom which infuriates him even more. If she has eloped again, he will not tolerate it. He comes down to the living room, heading straight towards the door to look for her.
“I will take it upstairs”
He stops hearing her voice. He turns in the direction of the kitchen and finds her holding a bowl. A relief floods across his body seeing her present in the house. She is still in the same Yellow saree she wore in the morning.
“Where were you?” he shouts while reaching her.
She looks furiously at him and chooses not to answer. She takes a few steps towards the stairs but he clutches her elbow, stopping her right there.
“I asked .. where were you?”
“Will you ask all your doubts today itself? We have a long way to go, isn’t it? Save some questions for later”
She repeats the same lines which he did to her in the morning.
“The soup is getting cold” she adds.
His eyes lower to the bowl of soup she is holding. She made this?
“Daadi needs to eat something before taking the medicines. Now if you leave my hand, I will be able to feed her the soup”
His grip on her elbow automatically loosens and she slips away. Why is she behaving so normal? He keeps gazing at her until the security head from their Palace interrupts.
“Sir, you got to see this” the guard hands him a 10-inch Tablet and turns the video on. It’s the CCTV footage which he had specially asked to check after confirming from Khushi what exact time she had seen that strange woman in the Palace. He watches that video and is shocked seeing the girl entering the Palace from the backdoor which only a few people of the house know about. She is hiding her face and like Khushi said, she really cannot be Payal because she is too thin. “After exact 28 minutes, she has left the Palace through the same backdoor, Sir” the security guard adds.
Arnav hands the tablet back to him.
“28 minutes? Do you understand what she might have done in the house? This family.. was in danger that day and none of you could catch it? What the hell am I paying you for?”
The guard looks down apologizing.
“We will keep some guards at the backdoor and secure it henceforth” the guard suggests.
“No” Arnav denies. “Just ensure that this CCTV camera at the backdoor is monitored live. If she comes back again, we will catch hold of her”
This idea is the only one which looks promising for now. He will have to talk to Angad and ask him to find this woman whoever she is. Until she is caught, they wouldn’t know her true intentions.

Subhadra Raizada slowly opens her eyes and scans the room. Anjali is sitting at the corner, over the huge couch, filing her nails. She has no good hopes from her either. She is tired sleeping on the bed for no reason. Her throat is dried. For how long will she have to act like unconscious? She has never tried such an act before. But today she had no choice. If she hadn’t pretended to be sick and unconscious, Khushi would have left the house. And things would get complicated. Khushi is a woman who always stands for herself and nothing can buy her. Not even the entire richness and power that the Royal family has built so far. So, she has to be won using such tricks.
But what if she has still left? She didn’t hear Khushi’s voice ever since she was brought in this room. Where is she? She purposely tosses on the bed murmuring something to grab Anjali’s attention but the silly woman is too busy in her nail art. Finally, Subhadra has to cough hard which makes Anjali jerk and look back at her.
“Daadi” she runs to the bed, faking buttery concern for the old woman. “You are awake. Oh my God! You scared us all”
Subhadra fakes a smile.
“I was unconscious, not dead” she replies and then sits on the bed, faking loss of strength.
“You were stressed, that’s why I asked you to give me the Royal keys. I will manage it all. But you didn’t listen. You think I cannot handle it well”
“Anjali” Daadi frowns. “The Royal keys belong to the Eldest Bride”
“Eldest?” Anjali snaps. “She doesn’t even care. She should have been here instead of me. But look around you.. She isn’t here? Where is she?”
“I am here” Khushi gets inside the room with the bowl of soup.
Both Daadi and Anjali are shocked. As she enters the room, Daadi takes a sigh of relief that her act worked. Khushi didn’t leave. Khushi
“Soup” Khushi hands the bowl to Daadi who takes it smiling back at her.
Anjali is not impressed by Khushi’s act. She had thought Khushi has no sentiments for the old lady but looks like that’s not the case.
“Anjali, leave us alone please” Daadi urges.
Anjali frowns at her request but does as told. The moment she is gone, Daadi pulls Khushi to sit next to her on the bed. She doesn’t hesitate to do so either.
“I am glad you changed your mind. You are really a good woman and I am proud to choose you for my grandson”
Khushi smiles sarcastically.
“Such sugar-coated words might impress Anjali, not me. If you think I am foolish not to realize you acted being unconscious, then you are wrong”
Daadi is stunned. Her hands shiver.
“I have lived with fake people around me all these years Subhadra Raizada. I can easily pick up who is genuine and who falsely portrays concern and sympathy. But this act of yours opened my eyes. You were right, it would be wrong if I left in haste. So, I changed my mind now. I am not going anywhere. Not until I find my sister Payal, get her back in this house and last but not the least, find the true intentions between you and that grandson of yours who has no idea how to behave with a woman”
She gets up.
“Finish the soup. It is good for your weak bones”
Daadi swallows hard seeing the determination in Khushi’s eyes. This girl is beyond her understanding and totally a match to fight against her and Arnav.

Loved it. This khushi and dadi will bond nicely and better with time. I just feel it. And the update was hilarious when khushi gave straight answers to arnav, dadis pretence and khushi catching her act. I really wish arnav will treat khushi better because even though she is strong headed she is a nice girl. She love genuine people. Arnav and dadi both just hide and act to keep her with them. They don't need to do such things. As I said arnav is not acting like a royal.
ReplyDeleteAwesome Update. Khushi is really a strong and intelligent woman who caught Daadi easily and her bold answers clean bowled Daadi. Khushi is a perfect match for Arnav. Khushi is not someone who can be easily impressed. Arnav is behaving quite rude but Khushi tackled him in his own way . But why Daadi doesn't want Khushi to leave the house. So many secrets and hope it gets unfold soon. Anjali is really greedy but Khushi will make her come on the right track. Loved Khushi's determination to find Payal and only she can teach Arnav some lessons.
