Arnav’s POV


Daadi is pacing in the living room and she looks worried.

“All okay? Not sleepy?” I ask heading to her. I just finished one of my Conference call.

“How can I sleep when she is still out?”

Is she talking about Khushi?

“You mean Pet?” I ask checking my watch. “She didn’t come home yet?”

“Its pouring heavily outside. She is stuck in her Boutique with no electricity. Even the generators are not working. Khushi is alone there and.. her phone is not reachable. I hope she is fine”


I look for the car keys in my pocket and confirm they are there.

“I will go get her” 

“Arnav, wait. I have already informed Shyam. He stays close by to her boutique. He said once the rain slows down, he will go pick her”

Slows down? I scoff.

“I don’t want to take a chance Daadi. She is scared of dark… if she is alone, she wouldn’t be able to spend the night there.. I will go get her. Don’t worry. My phone is charged. I will call you once I get to her”

Daadi watches me proudly but I don’t wait for her praises. Getting Khushi safely home is my only priority right now.

The man to her left grips her arm. She stares hopefully at him.

“I don’t want to get married to him. Don’t you understand? Ask your Boss to find another bride.”

“Why don’t you tell that to him on face?” he mocks and push her in the Mercedes.
