Chapter 31
Shyam Jha had left a while ago after confronting his mother’s deeds. He was guilty for the past and this guilt was what Khushi felt in his eyes during the dinner. Khushi was right..! There was something wrong about Shanti Jha and her son which was out today. Arnav still couldn’t believe his sister Anjali could hide such a crucial fact from them for last 8 years. After Shyam left, Anjali had locked herself in her room and Arnav showed no interest in speaking to her.
Arnav’s mood was terrible after the revelation. All these years he believed his sister instead of his wife.. He fisted his fingers and punched the wall hard.
“Arnav..” Ayush rushed inside the room to stop Arnav from hurting more. “What are you doing?”
“Leave me Dad. Just leave me alone”
“I won’t” Ayush declared.
Arnav strode away but was still in the room.
“I .. had hired spies to find this Manjith.. They couldn’t.. I don’t understand how..”
“Arnav” Ayush interrupted. “They couldn’t trace him because he hardly met Anjali twice… Anjali wasn’t in touch with him”
“I did a mistake Dad.. Its my mistake.. I should have.. dug deeper.. I shouldn’t have let Khushi go… She needed me the most after Aarav was born.. She was threatened. I should have been there for her.. I …damn”
He punched the wall again and this time blood oozed out from his knuckles.
“Arnav, stop it” Ayush shouted pulling him away from the wall.
“You cannot solve your problems hurting yourself. You are not the only one who did wrong. We all did. I don’t want to count Anjali’s mistakes because she literally crossed even humanity lines. It was me and Shashi who forced you and Khushi to tie a knot. That was our mistake despite knowing how opposite you both are to each other. You didn’t trust Khushi enough or support her was your mistake. And Khushi.. she too made some difficult choices in her life which ruined your relationship. We all are responsible for this.. not just you or Anjali..”
Arnav heard everything but that didn’t lessen his pain.
“I agree Khushi needed you the most and you were there with her when she was pregnant. I recall you telling me you wanted to ask her again if she really wanted to abide the contract and leave you and this house after the baby was born… and she said Yes Arnav. She wanted to leave.. It was her decision and that was made. She had her flight tickets to US booked and Shashi has confirmed that to us. But right now we know it was a childish decision.. Khushi was too young and scared to take up the motherly responsibilities then. But none of this matters now.. She confronted Aarav in her own way, apologized to him and he forgave her.. Don’t look back and hurt yourself. Its time we all correct our mistakes and give life another chance. If we keep grieving about the past or each other’s sins, we can never move forward”
Arnav nodded in agreement. His father was right. Life had given them one more chance and he will never let it go.
“Where is Khushi?” Arnav asked in a low tone.
“I saw her with Aarav a while ago. Poor boy he saw Anjali begging us to forgive her and he got confused. I told him not to get into all this..”
Arnav sighed in frustration. His son was too intelligent to connect the dots.
“Khushi said she will talk to him..” Ayush continued.

It was one heck of a revelation. Khushi was lying on the bed with Aarav in her embrace. Shyam’s entry in their lives had unraveled a lot many secrets and the biggest one amongst them was the existence of Manjith. Khushi shut her eyes to curb her rage. Anjali’s one lie had costed her 8 years of distancing from her family. If she had told the truth that night, a lot of misunderstandings would have been saved from happening. Shyam looked like a good man and he might have accepted her with the fact that she had spent a night with Manjith before she met Shyam. All these years Anjali kept cursing her for being the reason of her broken engagement but the truth was she herself was responsible for it.. How could she not see that? She fed Aarav’s ears with horrible statements. Khushi recalled Aarav telling her that Anjali said his mother was a witch to leave him.. Tears pooled in her eyes imagining Aarav processing all that at such a small age. She cuddled him closer.
“Mom, you still didn’t tell why Anjali Bua was crying. Did she do anything wrong?”
Khushi came out of her thoughts and stroked his back.
“Yes. She kept a big secret from all of us.. She was afraid your Daadu and dad will scold her”
“She lied too” Aarav said meeting her gaze.
Khushi was confused.
“She told me you are a witch.. But you are not Mom.. You are the best mom in this world”
Khushi’s heart clenched. She pulled him closer and kissed his forehead.
“I hate her Mom” he added.
“Aarav… No” she interrupted. “You should never say that.”
“Why not? She lied to me.. and you said she kept secrets”
“She is your aunt and you will never hate her. I know she has done some things for which I will never forgive her. But she loves you.. She loves your dad and she loves your Daadu..”
“But she hates you” he debated. “She doesn’t like you Mom”
Khushi sighed.
“That’s okay. You are too small to understand the complexity between us. Promise me you will not trouble her or behave differently. She is much elder to you. In my absence, she has took care of you. She loves you”
Aarav pouted but he nodded in agreement.
“I love you Mom”
“I love you too” she replied smiling back at him.
Arnav was at the door.. and he once again witnessed this matured conversation between his wife and son. He was so proud of Khushi for whatever she advised to Aarav. She didn’t instigate him to hate Anjali. She could have done that easily. That’s the difference between her and his Di. He had believed the wrong woman all these years and he will never forgive himself. Never!!!

The next morning, Khushi was preparing Aarav’s tiffin box when Ayush stepped in the kitchen.
“Khushi..”
She turned around and smiled at him.
“I know what you want to ask me..” she said. “Don’t worry, I am going to send a lunch box for you and your son at Office”
Ayush was surprised she didn’t show any reactions to last night’s events.
“After what happened yesterday, I thought you wouldn’t like to speak to us.. forget cooking..”
Khushi packed Aarav’s box and sighed.
“We were all at fault Uncle.. If we keep punishing each other, none of us can give a good life to Aarav. And I don’t want that to happen. That little boy has already lost 7 years of love from me and I now that I want to give him that, I want to do it collectively. I want you and Arnav to be part of this.. for Aarav..”
Ayush came ahead and stroked her head.
“I am so proud of you Khushi. Wish Anjali had been this matured like you..”
Khushi stiffened. She didn’t continue that conversation.
“Let’s call everyone for breakfast”
“Anju will have it in her room” Ayush replied. “I had sent Hari Prakash to check on her and she is too embarrassed to face me and Arnav. So, she will have her breakfast there”
Khushi nodded.
“And Arnav.. he left for Office early”
Now that surprised her. Last night after Shyam left, Arnav couldn’t meet her eyes.. She wanted to be alone and though Arnav had tried to follow her, she had shut the door on his face. It wasn’t easy for him either. She decided to talk to him and sort. Hardly a week more was left for her to leave Shantivan and she wanted to give Aarav the best of both her and Arnav together.

AR Office
Arnav was on a phone call when Ayush barged in his cabin early afternoon.
“I don’t care.. Find a way to put that woman behind bars. Trace Manjith.. And why have I still not got an update on Khushi’s recent accident? Is that motorbike man identified?”
Ayush waited for him to finish.
“Then find him.. I want results Aman..” he yelled before disconnecting the call and turning to his father.
“You want to file a case against Shanti Jha and Manjith?” Ayush asked coming forward.
“Of course. I am not going to let them slip away without punishment Dad. Shanti Jha conspired everything for her own selfish reasons and that Manjith implemented it. He even threatened my wife to harm Aarav.. How can I let him go? I want them both behind bars”
Ayush agreed with him.
“You think Shyam will agree?”
“Let him not. I don’t care anymore”
“Arnav.. I understand your point but ..”
Arnav got up from his seat.
“Dad let me handle things my way this time. I know sending them behind bars will not lessen my sins.. I didn’t trust my wife.. I believed my sister’s tears and words more than hers. I know Khushi was still going to leave me after Aarav was born.. But I could have stopped her.. I didn’t.. that’s my mistake. And no one but me is responsible for it.. I am ready to face the consequences but I wont let the source of our misunderstandings walk freely. I want them to be punished”
There was a knock at the door and the office boy pepped in.
“Sir, your lunch is arranged”
“We are coming there”
He nodded and left.
“Lets have lunch”
“I am not hungry”
“Come on son.. you will regret if you deny”
Though Arnav was in no mood to eat, his father dragged him to the other cabin. They both froze seeing Khushi present inside and serving their plates.
“Khushi? What are you doing here?” Ayush asked.
“I was bored at home. Thought I would come here to eat lunch with you both”
Arnav swallowed. She was once again in a Saree.. A purple one this time and the Sindoor glowed on her forehead darkly.
“Good decision” Ayush moved ahead and took his seat. “Come on Son, before I finish it all”
Arnav walked to the couch and sat next to his father. The food was yum. Ayush and Khushi talked but Arnav ate silently. He hurried to finish and once done, he got up to leave.
“I have few calls to make. Excuse me”
He left the room and Khushi turned to her father-in-law.
“Is that true?” she asked.
“Maybe. Why don’t you go and check yourself?”
Ayush was right. Khushi wanted to speak to Arnav and it was necessary they cleared some things between them instead of ignoring each other.
Arnav was back in the cabin, but he stood at the window, looking out. It hurt him to see Khushi put so many efforts still in this relationship. She tiptoed in his cabin and he didn’t even realize it until she stood beside him, looking out.
“You are shutting me out now?” she queried. “I still have one more week Arnav”
Arnav swallowed hard but she continued.
“I thought after knowing I was partly right so far, you would try to woe me again”
He didn’t speak a word.
“You don’t want to talk?”
He stood like a rock. Tears pooled in her eyes, she didn’t know why? More than his ignorance, his silence was hurting her. She could feel his pain.. literally. He was torn inside.. He was grieving, repenting, and was hurting his own self. Probably, he needed more time… and if her presence ached him so much, she better leaves.
She turned around to go and that’s exactly when she felt him holding her arm. When she looked behind, he had turned to her… but he didn’t meet her eyes.. Instead his head bowed down, and tears begun to flow. Her stomach knotted at the sight. He was sorry.. he didn’t say it… he couldn’t… But his gesture was enough to break her heart.
Khushi’s arms automatically cupped his
face and she lifted it up, forcing him to meet her gaze.

Everybody is responsible in one way or the other for their ruined past & it's time they together make efforts to rectify their mistakes & have a beautiful present & future, especially ArShi because the most affected is their relationship... Arnav's guilt is understandable but he needs to share it with Khushi & erase the communication gap between them which has been the major reason behind their broken marriage...

Shyam confessed his guilt. Arnav is hurt but he should have trusted Khushi . He loved her but couldn't trust her enough. Love is important so is trust. Infact both are important in a relationship. Now Arnav realising his faults. I know Khushi also did mistakes. Both needed to understand each other. Entire Raizada family is at fault and should be sorry. Ayush consoled Arnav yes past should be left behind and should not be dragged in future. Anjali ruined a family snatch a mom from a son separated a husband from his wife. Khushi is so good Anjali feed negative things about Khushi to innocent Aarav poisoned his mind against his mom.Khushi asked Aarav to forgive Anjali. Aarav is the one who is most affected. Arnav is noticing Khushi's change and her maturity. He must gave her a chance. Khushi also didn't keep grudge. In this seven years Aarav could have been happy with his parents. Hope Arnav finds this Manjith soon and also that man . Arnav realised his mistake lately and he is right to punish that Shanti Jha and Manjith. Hope Arshi stays together. Now that Arnav is deeply regretting hope Arshi will start a new chapter of life . Arnav's confession is going to be extremely emotional. Waiting for the next part😍😍

Anjali had you disclosed everything 8 years before...you would have not been so embarrassed...Had you apologized to everyone soon after the revelation or even in morning...you 'll feel less embarrassed...but continue hiding like this... you are only increasing your own embarrassment!
ArShi please solve your problems jaldi... communication gap, old resentments, new resentments, guilt and many more. Jaldi karo yaar...you are already 8 years late. Aarav zid nahi kar raha iska ...it doesn't mean he doesn't need a companion. You know what I mean😉😉

This is definitely a beautiful update. Arnav finally saying sorry to Khushi and the way she understood his stance without uttering a word.....this is true understanding between husband and wife. Khushi has won her husband's heart this time.

ReplyDeleteEveryone was at fault and the one who suffered the most was Arav. He did nothing wrong but suffered for 7 years without having his mom and hearing bad things about her. So now everyone should focus about Arav and give him the best. Nice update!! Thank you sis!
ReplyDeleteAt last truth is out and Khushi handled it with maturity. Anjali is real culprit.,How could she accused Khushi all this time and make her brother go against Khushi . She should ask for apology from everyone especially Khushi.

They are all to be blamed but Anjali the most because she of all the people knew the truth but chose to keep quiet because she was scared to tell her family the truth.. and for that Ayush & Arnav must share the blame. It isn't a big deal if she had a one night stand.
But to constantly criticise Khushi, badmouth her, blame her for her broken engagement, instigate Arnav against Khushi, and worst of all, fill Aarav ear's against his mother, is pure evil.
But a daughter is a daughter -I like the way Ayush consoles Arnav how not only he is at fault but it's not as if khushi was blameless. What about his daughter?
Aarav is right, Anjali shouldn't be forgiven mainly for instigating him against his mother when she knew Khushi was not entirely wrong. Yet she chose to direct all her venom at Khushi, brainwashed everyone against Khushi with no heed to the fact that the root of the problem was herself.
Khushi is being very mature and rightly more concerned about Aarav's well being.
We have seen Khushi repenting, now it's Arnav's turn.
They were all harsh on Khushi for her behaviour, am waiting to see how Anjali gets treated. . Or double standards for daughter and daughter-in-law?

ReplyDeleteAyush is right they have all made mistakes. Although Anjali’s mistake was the biggest and her poisoning Aarav’s mind agains his mother was the worst. Arnav is repenting which is so sad. Khushi in the other hand wants to comfort him. Fabulous chapter
