Lawful Sins - Season 2 - Part 49

PREVIOUS PART

Chapter 49

The sharp noise of his cabin door broke Arnav’s flashback and he focused on the woman standing before him. She was here!! Khushi Gupta!!

“Are we still engaged?” she spat in fury.

“Are we?” he asked adding more to her rage.

“Don’t throw my question at me. I didn’t run away last night, you did”

“You know why” he replied.

She was stunned by his one phrase responses. They scared her!! Was he still grieving for his mother’s accident? She wanted to support him in this grief but will he let her do that?
“I want to hear it from you Arnav. I want to know if you.. if you believe in those accusations…”

She felt the sting of tears in her eyes but she blinked them back.

“I want to know if you too think I am responsible for your…” she couldn’t complete that sentence. Even to think so broke her heart. It was hard to read his face today. It gave nothing. He was so cold and silent that it pricked her even more. Arnav pushed to his feet and reached her in few long strides.

“You see this” he asked raising her hand where the engagement ring glowed in her finger. “This is not a mere ring Khushi. It’s a promise. It’s a promise that I will never break until I am alive”

His reply didn’t satiate her. She was about to add her thoughts but he silenced her.

“Last night was difficult for us. It was the testing phase of our relationship. People are blaming you for that night. I won’t. Because they don’t know you like I do..”

Tears which she had been holding up, rolled down her cheeks.

“You left.. without informing me you just fled Arnav. You have no idea what I went through.” She clutched his shirt. “You promised to keep transparency between us and instead of abiding by that you…”

“I needed some time alone” he interrupted.

“Right.. Alone” she pushed him. “Nani.. NK… Lavanya.. all the guests.. they all kept asking me where you are, and I had no reply. I kept checking my phone the whole night, waiting for your message or call.. but you didn’t even show any curtesy to inform me what you were going through? I was scared Arnav.. I thought I lost you.. I thought you will never.. never see me again..”

Arnav gripped her wrists and pulled her close.

“If I had to break things, I would never give you hopes. I am here to stay in this relationship until my last breath”

Khushi let out a sigh of relief. This is what she wanted to hear from him. All she did last night was wait patiently for Arnav to sort his inner mess and return to her. Last night tested her worst insecurities. She remembered telling him once not to break her heart and leave her because if that happens, she might never be able to trust anyone again. Today she realized he was going nowhere.

“You have been with me in my odd times Arnav. Why didn’t you let me be in yours?”

She had a right to ask this and his reply didn’t disappoint her.

“I needed some time alone Khushi. Not to figure out why this happened or who was responsible for it but to absorb the fact that my mother helped someone in need before God snatched her life. She was always like that. Humble and ready to help. I am proud of whatever she did that night.. I always will be. I just wished god had shown some mercy on her and given her more life”

“Oh Arnav” Her eyes stinged with fresh tears. The pain in his voice broke her heart. “I didn’t snatch her from you. I would never do that to anyone. Despite having parents, I never got their love. I would never dare snatch the love of a parent from any child. I…”

He zipped her lips with his fingers.

“I know.. It was a freaking coincidence. You saved your brother from harms way that night, you tried saving Viraj too, but my mother got first. It was meant to happen Khushi.. I am happy that you poured your efforts to handle that situation. You could do no less.. no more.. I am proud of you.. The only reason for my misery is that I couldn’t do the same. I couldn’t save my mother”

“You could do nothing about it Arnav. No one knew it would happen. Please don’t hurt yourself. Please”

She was pleading.!! Yes, Khushi Gupta, the same woman who never bent before anyone was the one pleading before her love.. for the sake of their love.. She knew what Arnav had gone through after his mother’s death. She would never let him walk that same path now..

Arnav looked down in guilt. He was aware of that. He swallowed painfully and nodded in agreement. She hugged him as tightly as she could. She wanted to feel him…with her… together.. It was only after a few seconds that he hugged her back. He was still lost and in pain, but he needed her too.

They stood like that for some time, fighting their pain by their togetherness. He then pulled away and met her gaze. There were some things she had to know and a few they had to decide collectively.

“Viraj wants you” he stated.

Khushi’s eyes widened in surprise.

“What?”

“Yes. He wants you bad. He always had an eye on you since the time your father plotted him in NK’s life to spy on you both”

Khushi’s mouth felt bitter.

“I always knew how disgusting my father was and by doing this, he just.. he just screwed our lives again”

“Viraj has two motives to come back in our lives and one of them was to have you. He was never going to blackmail you. Nope”

“But those pictures he sent in my office?”

“They were to threaten you. He knew you will take my assistance and somehow I will ask my spies to track him. He wanted us to track him so that the second motive could be fulfilled.”

Khushi watched him confused. Second motive?

“Your father” Arnav replied. “Your father decided to play the hero in your life by sharing that incident with you, prior to Akash finding out. He and your mother wants an entry back in Gupta Mansion.”

Khushi jerked violently.

“Gambling and investing on the wrong properties have made them penniless again. They need source to rebuild their lives” he added.

Khushi is terrified to know her parents could go to this level.

“After getting to know your father had bailed Viraj out earlier, I told Akash to keep an eye on your parent’s current financial status. Thats how we got to know. Through Viraj again, they planned to break us and then get entry in Gupta Mansion. For money of course. Viraj and your father plotted this all together so that you go vulnerable again and they can play with your lives however they want. Shashi Gupta knows how much emotionally you are invested in me and our relationship. So if this breaks up, you will shatter and then he can easily get access to everything they think you have snatched from them”

“In their dreams” Khushi shouted.

“Not even in their dreams” he replied stroking her cheek. “I wouldn’t let them haunt you even in your dreams”

His assurance boosted her again. She was ready to fight the world alone and if he supported her, she would win every fight.

“Why did you call Viraj today?” she raised her next doubt.

“I had called him here to give a closure to that incident. He genuinely appreciated my mother’s assistance but he was trying to fill my ears against you..”

Khushi was surprised.

“A man knows when another man eyes on his girl.. We don’t need words to confirm that” he added.

“I will break his face if he thinks about me” Khushi challenged.

Arnav watched her proudly. His mother would have loved Khushi had she been alive.. She always wanted women to be stronger and bolder and knowing her son was engaged to one, she would have been prouder.

“Viraj’s plan has clearly failed and he is going to convey the same to your parents as well” he declared.

“We shouldn’t have let him go” she debated.

“We cannot hold him Khushi. He has done nothing so far which we can use against him”

She agreed but she had to do something about her parents before they plot more evil plans to disturb their lives. Only ignoring them was not enough. And now that she and Arnav have cleared their stand in each other’s lives, it was time they decided the other problems.

“Can we just not tell this to the family yet?” she requested.

Arnav was stunned by her request.

“I can’t believe you want to hide this fact. They have every right to know it”

“I understand” she debated. “I just need some time to tackle this. Especially Kishu. He will break down Arnav”

“I don’t agree” he snapped. “The family better knows from us than anyone else. It would be tough, but they should know”

Khushi still didn’t agree to him.

“I know Nani will be hurt but she is matured enough to realize this was just a coincidence” he explained.

“And Lavanya?” Khushi snapped. “She is already pregnant, and she is NK’s wife. What will she go through?”

“We will handle her” he assured.

“Give me some time please” she urged. Arnav could read her turmoil.

“You can’t protect NK forever Khushi” he stated. “He has to come out of his shell, take his stand and own his mistakes”

Khushi shut her eyes. Maybe he was right but all she asked was some time. Why can’t he give her that?

“I need to go”

She turned around to leave.

“Khushi stop.. don’t leave until we come to a decision”

She stopped at the door.

“You have decided already. So even if I don’t agree to it, I will stand with you. Bye”

She opened the door and left. Arnav fisted his fingers. He was being so considerate over this entire scenario but convincing Khushi sometimes seemed like fighting a war.

Khushi strode to her car at the parking lot and leaned at the door once she reached. She was grateful that Arnav didn’t point her or NK for his mother’s accident, but he would never understand why she wanted some time before sharing this matter with the family. So far, all these years she had cocooned NK in a protective shell. It was now that he had decided to take up his responsibilities seriously. He had recently joined office and was trying to learn business. If at this stage he got to know about Arnav’s mother’s accident, he would break down, lose trust on himself and she couldn’t let that happen. It was too soon to put this additional accountability on him.

She was about to get inside the car and leave this place when she saw Arnav Singh Raizada standing some distance away from her and watching her intently.

“You forgot your phone in my cabin”

She took her smartphone. He continued striding towards her until her back hit the car again.

“Two days” he declared. “You have two days’ time and then we are talking to the family. I don’t know what you intend to do in this time but that’s all you will get from me”

Khushi stared at him blankly. He agreed? She had no idea what she would do in these two days, but she would think of something.

“And where the hell are your guards?” he snarled realizing she was alone.

“I … I didn’t get the guard here. They are in my office”

“Office?” he scoffed. “Guarding what? Your empty cabin?”

He was clearly annoyed at her negligence. She was so worried about their future that she didn’t even wait for her guards to follow her. She drove here all alone.

“Arnav I will drive back safe” she assured touching his jaw gently.

He pushed away her arm away gently not to offend her.

“I am dropping you. Get in the car”

That wasn’t an offer but a declaration. She didn’t argue. At least they would get some more time with each other.

To be continued.

  1. Shashi Gupta and Garima are not parents, they never loved their children. I am glad that Arnav is in Khushi's life or else how long will she fight alone with those monsters

  2. Awesome Update. Khushi must tell everything to NK and stop protecting him. NK is mature enough now. Khushi is very soft hearted and couldn't bear the separation. Love and trust between Arshi is still intact. Arnav is a man of commitment he wouldn't have turned back. Today respect for Arnav increased more Arshi's love finally won otherwise Khushi would have gone back to dark. Arnav just needed some time. It's just fate whatever happened with Arnav's mom. Khushi may have been deprived of parents love but she knows the value of it. Love has changed Khushi Arshi's hug was awesome. Viraj is sick and he wants Khushi. Shashi and Garima are the worst parents to make a deal of their daughter . Khushi is the perfect choice for Arnav but she should stop protecting NK and tell him everything. Now Arshi got some time to resolve the matter. Thanks for the Update😍😘

  5. It's really unfortunate that Shashi and Garima are Khushi's parents . In the beginning Khushi was totally broken and was in pain but true love wins over the storm. Thanks for not separating Arshi. Khushi's trust won. Arnav's mom was a kind lady. Khushi had no fault . Khushi never got the love of parents but she knows the importance of parents. Love changed Khushi completely. Never seen Khushi so vulnerable. Khushi also comfort Arnav. Viraj is psycho so is Shashi. So Gupta couple turned beggar they deserve that. Arnav vowed to protect Khushi. Arnav's mom would be really happy to get a daughter in law as strong as Khushi. Khushi alone can't control everything. Nani NK Lavanya needs to know. Khushi needs to give some freedom to NK as a sister she is correct but NK has to be made aware. Arnav's protective nature is so nice . As long as Arnav is with Khushi nothing can go wrong.

    This story is already over

  7. Shashi and Garima are just useless and they do not deserve to come back to Khushi and Nk's life. I loved they way Arnav handled his lover.

  9. What a drama by shashi and garima disgusting 🤮 How can a parent think 🤔 in such a manner ridiculous. Khushi is over protecting her brother NK.

  12. Good that ArShi sorted their issues & assured each other that there's no scope of misunderstanding or distance between them in any situation...

Loved the update & Madhu pls don't get demotivated by some thankless readers' insignificant comments... They invest hardly 2-3 minutes in reading the update & just call it rubbish forgetting your efforts, thoughts & time you invest behind drafting such wonderful stories for us... Apart from some such thankless people, v all r happy with your work... Continue the story the way u have planned without tweaking it to please such undeserving readers...

One thing i want to add here from past few update of this fiction there is so much negativity comments here...If those people dont like this fictions or precisely ArShi fiction they should leave this page forever...Stop showing their ugly side to people here...Who are you to told Madhu that she should end this story...its her story so it should be her decision only...If you dont like to read ArShi fictions here then kindly leave this page forever...This page was so good earlier dont know where these kind of people come from to degrade it...Madhu We really like your Story about ArShi...

  14. Now Arnav should be more careful than Khushi! Because Arnav made his stand clear to Viraj about sticking to Khushi forever. If Viraj wants Khushi that bad, then only way to get her is to kill or hurt Arnav. He obviously wont target Khushi.

  15. I’m glad that they sorted out their feelings and understanding each other without hurting anyone. Khushi is a good sister. But she doesn’t have to protect her brother always. I know khushi being a responsible sister she will always think about her brother no matter what. But at a certain point she has to let him go and learn things on his own. That way he will proudly fearlessly face the world. Moreover khushi isn’t going to live forever. So she must teach him how to be his own, how to handle his problems, how to take the responsibility of the family, how to be brave and embrace all kind of feelings. For that khushi has to let him go. Nice update sis! Thank you!!

  16. Pathetic parents....they never loved their children. Awesome

  17. Madhu will you update any stories today?

  18. Both the Guptas should be drawn and quartered. They don’t deserve to have children. I sgreee with Arnav that the family should be told. Khushi must learn to set NK free
