Arnav's POV
“Can we take the Subway? I have heard about the notorious traffic of this city and it will just delay us all the more. Besides I have never travelled in trains before”
She pouts innocently making me forget everything for a moment.
“Arnav and trains?” Mom mocks. “He always travels in luxury cars and Limousine Khushi. Stop bothering him with your petty wishes”
Khushi glares at my mother briefly and then meets my eyes again.
“Upto you” She murmurs displeased and I quickly dial my driver asking him to get the car ready. Mom passes a wining smirk to Khushi who doesn’t bother. She gives a hug to Daadi and walks out with me to the elevator.
“We will get down at the nearest subway” I mention opening the car door for her and the smile she rewards me with, flutters my heart.
“Are you.. sure?”
“No” I admit. “But if that means so much to you, I can adjust” “Thank you. I … I am so happy right now.. I am going to sit in a train.” She jumps in joy pressing my arm. I have never seen her so happy so I guess I will take that little credit of giving up my luxury for her.

DeleteOn the other hand, Arnav is doing what suits him best, like tollerating his mother insulting Khushi, making his mother understand that she will be the one who knows him best, and like a coward when outside telling Khushi that they will get on the subway, not infront his mother!

ReplyDeleteAnd doesn't matter how much Arnav wants khushi in his life, he needs to understand he needs to protect her self-respect too infront of his mother not like khushi can't do that, but it's his responsibility too.. he is too diplomatic which is quite irritating.
You are being kind...not diplomatic, just self centred and not willing to step in and do what is right because it currently doesn't come in the way of what he wants. If it had, then he might make an effort.
DeleteRight now Khushi didn't say anything and still agreed to go out with him, so he could care less about her self respect and is happy to to check his mom.
Why rock that boat if the person getting insulted is not saying anything and is willing to do what he wants i.e. spend time with him

ReplyDeleteHe is trying one hand to show his mother that she knows him better, that he will not negate anything she says and thus keep her happy, and then steps out and agrees to what Khushi says to try and keep her happy.
Thats trying to keep both women happy by misrepresenting things, very very underhand and sly.
And I didn't like the way he didn't defend Khushi when his mother ticked Khushi off asking her not to trouble Arnav with her petty ideas. That was not a nice comment and this was strictly between husband and wife but he didn't see it fit to check his mom and defend Khushi's self-respect?
Just to sexually desire someone isn't love.. and Arnav is a lot like his dad and mom - self centred, obsessed with what he wants and sees things through his own point of view and what suits him esp when it comes to Khushi.

Absolutely correct.. it's hell disturbing... Khushi shouldn't give in Arnav's demand of physical intimacy... he doesn't deserve it anytime soon... Once a Casanova always a Casanova bloody jerk....
