Chapter 16A



Arnav’s POV


“If I could look just in your eyes so far, ever since I have stepped in this bedroom, despite all the bodily reactions going inside me right now…. you can trust me I won’t make you feel embarrass by admiring you lower than your face.”


Khushi bites her lower lip and I am transported into a different world altogether. Ever since I saw Khushi in this thin strap satin gown, my mind and body were both on fire. I wanted to take her in my arms that very instant when she opened the door for me and kiss her but all of this had to wait considering she was yet to say a YES to my proposal though mentally we both knew she was mine.


The door knocks and this time Khushi and me both know its her sister Payal. Khushi puts distance between us while I open the door for her sister who is surprised to see me in Khushi’s room.

“I got coffee for Khushi” I clear her doubts before she could raise one.

“Oh. And my Coffee?” she asks then giggles. “Don’t worry, I was kidding. Akash and I already had Coffee this morning.”


Oh yes. Today while making coffee for Khushi I had seen Akash and Payal taking a walk in the garden with coffee mugs. They seem to have gelled well. Why is my woman giving me such a hard time? I smile at her and head outside the room, letting them some time alone.

Khushi’s POV

Payal needed some tips and advise before speaking to Anjali Di today who was going to talk to her and Akash this morning. That call went for almost half an hour as Akash was busy pulling her leg as he shied speaking to Di. I loved seeing them teasing each other and remembered my call with Di yesterday when Arnav had done the same. Things were going great from the Raizada side whereas we still had to talk to Dad and that bothered me. So, today when he called, I decided to share a bit about Arnav as he never really knew there were two handsome men we were co-sharing this house with during the quarantine period.


“What? You and Payal are not alone in that Bungalow?” Dad shouts. “And you are telling me this now?”

“Dad.. relax. This is exactly why I didn’t tell you prior. You would panic and then… I didn’t want you to call us frequently to check upon us. We are big girls now and we know how to handle ourselves.”

“Fine Khushi but.. this is ridiculous. How could they club two men with you in the same house like that?”

“These guys are great. You heard about the Raizada Group of Companies? They own them. Arnav Singh Raizada and Akash Singh Raizada.”


Dad goes quiet for a second.


“Hmm. I hope they didn’t throw any tantrums. They are like billionaires.”

“No they didn’t.” I laugh. “In fact they are so cool and down to earth. We have even divided our work. Arnav and I cook and the cleaning part is handled by Akash and payal.”

“Oh.. so you have already paired up?”


I go blank.

“Yea.. I mean.. we had to share the workload Dad. And..”

“Is this guy. Arnav Singh Raizada responsible for you rejecting NK’s proposal.?”


What? How does Dad know I rejected NK? I grip my phone tight. Thank God this wasn’t a video call or else I wouldn’t be able to hide my embarrassment.


“I know Khushi. Yesterday I had called NK’s father who told me NK is returning to Australia as they are allowing some private Jets to operate now between these two countries. I was so confused why he was suddenly leaving without letting us know? That’s why I spoke to him last night and he told me you already like someone else.”


I swallow nervously.


“I am sorry Dad. I wanted to share this by meeting you in person that’s why I … I am so sorry that you had to know if from others before me.”


Tears spring in my eyes and I cannot even do anything to stop them. I feel like I have cheated my father.


“Khushi, its okay. I was really angry at first but then I know whoever my daughters select have to be great men. Good you didn’t hide anything today. Now tell me how is Arnav?”


I let out a short laugh.


“He is nice.. gentleman.. just like you..”

“Is he?” He laughs back. “And Akash? Does Payal really love him too?”

“Don’t ask.. She is so cutely bonding with Akash that I am confused is she the same introvert sister of mine.. They look good together Dad. You must see.”

“I will .. I will.. I don’t mind having a video call if my son in laws are okay..”

“No” I deny. “No video call. I want you to meet them in person. So, once we are back to Delhi, we will go to Raizada mansion and meet the family. You can meet these men there.”


Dad agrees and I am so relieved. Finally, we are all on the same page. But where is Arnav? He was supposed to convince me for saying Yes to his proposal and after today’s lunch I haven’t seen him yet. Looks like he is planning something big.. Well!! Let’s find out.
