My New Boss - Season 3 - Part 20

Chapter 20

Arnav’s POV

I didn’t want to meet Mukherjee anywhere especially around my office where I know we could be seen together. It was risky and yet I took that risk only because he had an information about Khushi which I couldn’t wait to know. I’m being very nosy in Khushi Gupta’s life, I realize that too but I’ve a feeling she is in danger and she has no clue how worse that could be for her future. I want her to be safe.

“Hey” I shake hands with the detective. “This is the first and last time we are meeting here.”

“I understand and I am totally sorry for calling you at such a short notice. If the matter hadn’t been serious, I wouldn’t have bothered you.”

Serious? I wait for him to explain and my heart skips a beat after he finishes. This seems messed up. He passes me the evidence I need to believe it.

“How many days does she have?”
“Two more excluding today.”

That’s a pretty short time but I’ll manage. I know I have to!!

“Fine, I’ll message you what we have to do next. Give me few hours to go through my options.”

He nods and marches out. So, this is what is happening in Khushi Gupta’s life and poor woman, she has no clue her efforts are going to go in vain. Damn hell!!

Khushi’s POV – 3 days Later

It was a tough decision to make. Selling the only property I had, made by my hard work now belonged to someone else. I take a final tour of my house. I have hardly collected a few valuables from this place in three bags and had sold my apartment with the furniture to the new owner. It’s breaking my heart to say goodbye to this place because I know how much each of the stuff here means to me. Wiping my tears, I turn around to handover the keys of the house.

“Thank you, Ma’am,” Sachin, my property broker takes the keys from me. “I’ll hand them the keys myself.”

I nod.

“When are they shifting here?”

He looks confused.

“They didn’t share it with me the dates.”

I shrug. Not that I care anymore. This is their house and they can shift here whenever they are ready. I have booked a hotel for one-week until Sachin finds me another apartment on rent to stay. He has promised good options to come up by the next week so that I can stay close by to AR group where I work. All I have to do is hide this fact that I am staying in a hotel from everyone else until I shift to my rental property. Obviously, someday my relatives will come to know that I broke my engagement and I’ll also have to inform a few of my colleagues from AR Group who paid me visit at my apartment that my address has changed. Lavanya has called me thrice since morning to know if I am okay. She had to leave for Goa because she has shoots there. A new assignment from the Malik’s side which came up as a surprise to her. She didn’t want to go but I made sure she chooses her work over me. I have her support no matter even if she physically cannot stand beside me at this moment and that’s enough for me.

But right now, I have to first handle calling off my engagement with Shyam. That’s my only priority for now. So, I dial my lawyer and then head to his office so that we can take the next action.

**********************

Few hours later

“Khushi? What are you doing here at my office?” Manohar Jha leans back on his MLA chair while his assistant follows me inside.

Yes, I came straight to his political party office to meet him personally.

“How are you doing, Uncle?” I ask heading to his table.

“I am always doing good. And now that Shyam has agreed to proceed with the marriage, you won’t believe how much happy I am. Anyway, when are you putting down your papers?”

“Which papers?”

“Resignation. No women of our family have ever worked after marriage. So wouldn’t you. Didn’t Shyam ask you to resign from AR Group?”

I knew it already. Manohar Jha is very strict and conservative about his family traditions and a few of them are very baseless like the one he just shared with me now.

“That won’t be needed, Uncle. I am not resigning the company and nor getting married to your son.”

He glares at me.

“I am not in a mood for jokes, Khushi.”

“Neither I”

I turn around and wave at my lawyer to come inside. He gets in with a suitcase and some papers.

“I am clearing my father’s debt which he had taken from you and which also happens to be the very base of this alliance between our families.”

He watches me in horror as my lawyer forwards the suitcase.

“I am repaying you that with interest. 20% cash and the rest 80% of that amount is already credited in your bank account. You can ask your accountant to check once.”

“What nonsense is this? Where did you get this money from?” he snaps.

“I sold my house, though I don’t think you should be bothered about how I got this arranged so soon.”

“You think paying off the debts is going to stop this marriage from happening?” He threatens me and I know he would do that. Thankfully I am prepared.

“Shyam and I had a contract Mr. Jha. We signed this a year after that accident. Shyam didn’t want to marry me and I was equally disinterested. So, we came up with this contract that said I am free to cut off our ties if I pay off the debts of my father. I have strived for years to get this money collated and needed some more time to make it happen but then suddenly your son changed his mind. Now he wants to marry me but with all due respect, I have no such interest. I never had. So, I am fulfilling my terms of the contract and cutting off the ties between us. These are the contract papers and don’t bother about negating all this because I have enough evidence that I have repaid my debt and that I am free of this contract.”

He gets up from his chair.

“You think this is a joke? I have announced my son’s marriage to everyone in my political party. What will I tell them?”

“Both me and Shyam have hurt your feelings, Mr. Jha by not telling you anything about this contract but it was his idea so you speak to him about it. He will have better answers to give how to convince your party people that this marriage isn’t happening. But this ends here between us. Thank you so much for supporting my father during his bad days. In future, if you or your son need any assistance that I am capable of providing, I will be happy to help. Goodbye.”

I turn around to leave but hear him screaming.

“You are making a mistake Khushi. I am Manohar Jha.. No matter what you do, I am going to make sure my dignity is maintained before the society. You will marry my son soon.”

He keeps shouting more but I am already out with my lawyer hot on his heels.

“Ma’am” my lawyer intervenes as we reach his car. He drove us here from his office. “Manohar Jha is not going to take this lightly.”

“Let him not. We have evidence to fight if he takes this to court even.”

“He is not someone who would use the court to handle such issues. He is a nasty powerful man who has powers in his hands. I warn you to be safe. Such people can do anything.”

I know what he is saying but I hope Manohar Jha and his son now stop poking in my life. They have got the money they loaned my father once. Now I have nothing to do with them.

**********************

I checked in at the St. Park Hotel which is approx 4 kms from my office. It was the only hotel which was so near and I loved the ambience of this place. I had booked a simple room, no fancy suite like I did mostly during my business trips. Now that I have lost the only asset I had, I have to save again from scratch to rebuild what I have lost. It’s surprising that Shyam hasn’t contacted me ever since I repaid his father. I didn’t speak to him about going directly to him before actually letting that happen. Once I had completed my part of the contract, I only messaged him stating it’s over and that he can talk to his father to know the rest of the story. He didn’t even reply to that which is surprising. Fortunately, today being Saturday, I didn’t have to go to office and I also made sure not to get anything scheduled for me this weekend. I knew I would be hell busy handling these petty things.

From past 3 days I haven’t got to meet Arnav personally because he got busy into some of his personal work, as I heard from his secretary. He cancelled a few meetings so that he could take care of that which I am not sure what was. Ayush Sir was still at office and it was only Arnav who was missing which meant it could be related to him alone or his mother. I am missing Aarti Aunty and her warmth.. I wish I could talk to her and she gives me some words of strength. I close my eyes and relax as the car halts at the lobby of my hotel. I had been out with Sachin looking for some rental apartments around this place. I didn’t like any though. I still have a week more to pick one. So, I pay the cab and get in the hotel to my room.

I have showered and am deciding what to order from room service when the door knocks hard. Who can knock the door this hard? People don’t have manners I suppose. I am sure it can’t be one of the staff. Any guest? The door knocks again and I am pissed. I open the door in rage to scowl at the person doing so but the next moment I cringe seeing two tall men looking like bouncers gripping my arm.

“What the hell.!! Leave me. Who are you?”

“You will know who we are once we deliver you to Boss.”

They are about to drag me out when I bite his wrist and run inside to lock myself in the bathroom and call the reception. I have no idea who these people are and how they managed to get into my room. What were the security doing down? How could they let them in such a safe premise of the hotel? I run into the bathroom and am about to lock myself when one of these bouncers pulls me behind with a force. I literally stumble and my head collides with the vase kept on the table beside.

Blood oozes out of my head. I can’t fight them so I scream for help and the very next minute my thudding heart sees a small hope when Arnav Singh Raizada barges in my room and fights with one of the bouncers. He punches that man too hard. The other man catching hold of me runs to save him and then the two together fight with Arnav who is doing his best to defend. I don’t know what the hell is happening but I can’t let Arnav handle it alone. I quickly grab the phone and dial the reception asking them to send immediate help. Then I pick the same vase which hit my head and smash it on one of the bouncers’ head to divert him from Arnav whose neck he had strangled bad. Arnav chokes but as soon as the bouncer drops down on the floor, Arnav kicks and punches the other one left until the security comes here and takes control of the situation. Finally!

“Call the police..” Arnav exhales, instructing the manager. “They are not going anywhere without a thorough investigation. And what kind of hotel is this? A woman is been forced and threatened to be abducted and none of you know this? Who the hell is monitoring the live CCTV cameras?” Arnav keeps shouting.

I don’t think I even have the energy left to join his argument.

“I am going to sue this hotel for such a misconduct and carelessness. You guys are going to be shut forever.” He snarls then turns to me. “You okay?”

I take a breath nodding my head.

“Call a doctor.. She needs to…” He stumbles as he tries to reach me.

I immediately rush to him and hold his arm.

“God!! You are bleeding Arnav.” I shout..

“So are you..” he says touching my forehead wounds.

“Someone call the medic..” I scream at the hotel manager who instantly dials someone instructing the same.

“What a mess” Arnav groans as I lead him to the couch. I flop with him on the sofa unable to leave his grip. He is imbalanced. This man really fought a lot and I can’t thank him enough. But how did he know I was here? And that I was in danger?

To be Continued.

I knew nothing about him except that he used me as a pawn to start a war to snatch from the Raichands what was legally his.

Aarav Raichand
Despite being the firstborn in the Raichand family, they forbade me from the rights and tags I should legally own. My father was secretly married to my mother, his middle-class lady love. Yet my egoistic grandmother got him re-married to another woman from her rich circle. She considers their offspring, Mohit Raichand, as the true heir of the family now. I would have ignored it all had her actions not taken my mother’s life. 2. Awesome Update. Shyam's dad probably sent those bouncers. Arnav fought for Khushi. He loves her so much. Khushi also cares for him. Shyam and his dad both are horrible. Hope Arnav marries Khushi before the father and the son again does something. The way he threatened Khushi is scary. He can hurt her again. Thanks for the Update😍😍

  3. Wow! Action packed update. I was contemplating how will you proceed with the story after Khushi cut ties with Jha's. Now I know, they will play dirty and we will have to bear these nasty people for a long time. And also there is more to the alliance and is not only about the loan Khushi's father took. Will be waiting for these mystry to unfold.

I am guessing Arnav has bought Khushi's apartment. I guess Arnav will force Khushi to move into Raizada house, as he will not disclose about buying Khushi's apartment as it will create suspicion in Khushi's mind.

There will be a marriage in near future hopefully. Will it be marriage of convenience (contractual) or with consent we have to see.
Whatever the case Arnav will not let Khushi go.

  4. Khushi sold her house to pay the debt. Did Arnav arrange the owner. Khushi finally cancelled her marriage with the good for nothing Shyam Jha. Both the father and son have same kind of mentality. Khushi also cleared her debt and Shyam's dad threatened her. If Khushi marries Arnav she will get a family of her own. Manohar Jha sent those bouncers to hurt Khushi. Arnav came at the right time and fought with them. Both Arshi cares for each other and Arnav loves Khushi so much. He can feel Khushi was in danger . Hope Arnav propose Khushi for marriage and Khushi also accept . She can be safe with him and his family. Waiting for the next part 😍😍

  8. Wow khushi start melting for arnav ❤️

  9. I think it’s khushis ego that brings this all. Her pride didn’t let her see the reality. She thought once money was given everything would be okay. But that doesn’t work like that. Now she will have to face all this and Arnav is involved in this mess too. Shyam doesn’t like her so can’t he help her to come out of this mess? Manohar Jha cannot force her to marry. I don’t want this story to be dark with politics related fights. It kills the mood of this type of story. In my opinion season 1 is the best of this series. No offense! Thank you for the update sis. As always you amazed us with the twists.

    1. From where did Khushi's ego come from? And what other reality you are talking about? Shayam and Khushi had a contract alliance and money was the main and ONLY clause. Money was what had them bind into such alliance and why wouldn't it will be broken bcoz of the same? Why would Khushi believed or think some other reality than money when it was the only reality in which they had been living? How would she be responsible for nasty change of mind of the other party?

And Arnav is involved in the mess bcoz of Khushi' pride and ego??? From what i see Arnav INVOLVED HIMSELF into the MESS. Neither Khushi nor Jhas had begged to him or asked on gun point to get involved into someone's else mess, that too without their permission or willingness.

And even if Khushi has pride and ego, she has all the reasons to be. She has single handedly and by her sheer hard work has reached at such high level of success, made herself capable enough to pay her father huge dept, had made a comfy life and stable career for which most spend their life just dreaming for.

    2. Ok my bad you don’t have to fight with me like this. Seriously everytime I pen down my opinion I get dislikes and this type of comments and I’m fed up of this.
You have commented like I have done a grave mistake.

  15. Okay!!! So Arnav knows something about the deal between the Jhas & Khushi's dad which Khushi herself ain't aware of yet... May b the Jhas cheated with Khushi's dad or may b they r responsible for his death or may b it's them who owes money to Khushi's dad & not vice versa or anything more mysterious & shocking & messier 😐

Good that Arnav reached on time to save Khushi from the goons which were surely sent by Jhas... Hope now Arnav & Khushi have a clear cut conversation on the matter..

Thanks for the happening update, Madhu ❤️

    Love
