Chapter 2
Arnav’s POV
No amount of alcohol is going to soothe my raging nerves especially when I see Khushi getting down the stairs in a black dress. That’s not the dress I had picked for her. Though I have loaded her closet with all dresses, sarees and nightwear of my choice, for today I had chosen a red dress for her but instead, she chose to wear a black one. But she has managed to shower, and get dressed in 30 minutes though which is appreciated. I know how much time she took otherwise to get ready in the past. Not less than 2 hours. Its strange how I want to forget the past I had with her and yet every time she is before me, that’s the only thing I keep remembering and comparing it to the present.
“What happened? Didn’t expect me to wear this one?” Khushi mocks, smoothening the black dress which hugs her body in ways I hadn’t expected.
Earlier she was very lean and petite. Now she has a woman’s curvaceous body to die for. Only if this could mean anything to me. I ignore the treacherous reactions my lower body gives at the moment and put the whiskey glass down.

“Black is not considered very auspicious for a newly wed bride. Do you believe in that Arnav?” she keeps teasing me.
“You are not going to make this easy for me, would you?” I grin. “Go and wear the red dress Khushi before I tear off whatever you are covering your body with at the moment.”
My warning threatens her but she still masks it with fake confidence.
“Touch me and see what happens” she challenges. “All the men who have tried to touch me without my will are in Jail.”
I smile.
“Good” I nod reaching closer. “That’s all your dad could do with those men.”
I lean closer to her ears and surprisingly she doesn't step back.
“Had I been there, those men would have been to hell by now..”
She shudders as I complete that statement and glares at me.
“Actually know what?” I give her an attentive look from head to toe. “You don’t deserve to wear my favorite color either. Black is what suits you the best because that’s how dark your heart is..”
“Mind you-”
Before she can complete that sentence, I grab her hand and drag her to the exit.
“Mohan… get the car keys. We are leaving..” I shout.
My driver Mohan quickly follows us to the car and hands me the keys. I am going to drive my wife to her father’s place today. I open the door for Khushi to sit ahead and she gives me an annoyed look before getting inside. I take the wheel and soon the car engine comes to life.
“Where is my phone? You took my phone yesterday?” she queries and when I don’t respond, she continues bickering. “You are such a jerk. First you married me forcibly and now you are keeping me and my belongings captive?”
“You are not my captive” I mutter.
“Oh yah?” she scoffs. “That means you are going to drop me to my father’s house and leave?”
“I never said I would do that but yes, that’s what I will and you know what you will do?”
My challenging tone confuses her and she waits for me to finish.
“You will follow me back to my car and beg me take you back with me.”
“Oh please…” she shrugs nonchalantly. “That’s never happening.”
“We’ll see..”
********************
Khushi’s POV
Either this man is mad or he is over confident. If he thinks I’ll beg him to take me with him so that we stay together then he is under an illusion. My father will not let me step away with him. In fact when he gets to know the way Arnav married me, he is not even going to let Arnav go without calling the cops and sending him to jail. But I don’t warn him that. Why should I? Let him face it when the time comes. Suddenly, I take my own time to admire the man he has become. He definitely has grown in every way… Personality, style, attitude.. and most importantly his handsomeness. If only he had come back into my life in a decent way, I wouldn’t have mind doing friendship with him again. But…
The car halts and I come out of my reverie. We have reached. The moment my guards see me in the car, they immediately surround it and help me get out of the car. Arnav just follows. I finally feel safe and back to my den. I give him a mocking stare before heading inside the house. It’s strange that he doesn't even feel scared or nervous that he is here. I recall the time when he was so afraid to even sneak a glance at me when he was around my father. I was the one who openly admired him and now… he behaves like he is the one why my father’s empire is running.
“Khushi?” Dad’s voice calms me and I instantly run into his arms. He looks tired as if he didn’t sleep the whole night. He hugs me tight. “Are you fine? What did he do to you?”
“Marriage, Mr. Gupta..” Arnav answers before I can.
My guards immediately stop him from advancing towards us and instead of fearing, Arnav pushes one guard away.
“Stop me again, and you wont like the consequences” he challenges the guard before returning his gaze on us.
“Arnav Singh Raizada?” Dad roars. “Have you lost your mind? How dare you abduct my daughter? You know what she means to me? She is my life.. and..”
“And your life was ready to put your life at risk by eloping to USA by marrying an NRI who could give her a green card so that she could pursue her dream career of modelling in New York.”
He opens up my secret and Dad is stunned. He gives me a quick glance before turning back to Arnav.
“Enough of your lies. Khushi will not do anything like that..”
“No she wont… not anymore” Arnav smirks. “She’s married me now so all the other NRI’s are saved from that torture..”
“How dare you?” I shout. He is insulting me every second.
“Don’t dare me darling,” Arnav replies. “You will regret it bad..”
“Shut up” Dad intervenes. “The only who is going to regret now is you…”
“That’s true” Arnav chuckles. “I married your daughter after all. I am the only one who is going to regret this decision for long.”
God!! This man is too good at his dialogues.
“Enough. I am calling the cops…” Dad challenges.
“Please do..” Arnav takes a seat on the couch opposite to us, so casually as if he owns this place. “And don’t forget to call the media as well. In fact, you don’t have to. If I don’t leave this place with my wife in next 15 minutes, my secretary Aman Mathur is sending the media here to shoot this conversation between us..”
Dad stops at his threats.
“What… what do you mean?” Dad stutters. “Do you really think I’ll let my daughter go back with you?”
“You don’t have a choice Mr. Gupta. She is my wife. She belongs to me now. In fact, you should thank me for taking away your headache. Don’t you recall how much she has exhausted you with her silly attitude all these years? You are getting old now.. how much will you tolerate her tantrums? Leave her on me to handle..”
That’s it. My anger is beyond my control. I walk to him.
“Get out of my house.”
“Sshhhhh” he makes an annoyed face. “Don’t scream. I hate your voice.”
He hates my voice? Like seriously? This man has once begged me to love him and now he tells me he hates my voice?
“What do you want?” Dad asks angrily but he is also a bit helpless now..
“Now you are asking the right question, Mr. Gupta and I appreciate. I’ll tell you what I want, how and what will happen if you don’t give me that. But… this talk is only between us.. Your idiotic daughter doesn't need to be a part of this conversation.”
“Damn hell,” I shout. “You called me idiot?”
“I did darling.. You don’t know what the full form of Idiot is?”
I glare at him, analyzing what he is trying to frame now? What full form? Arnav gets up on his feet and smiles at me.
“IDIOT stands for.. I Do Ishq Only with Tumse. That ‘with’ is silent..”
Ishq? My cheeks turn red as his gaze drops from my eyes to my parted lips. That one look enough to tell me he wants to kiss me again. As if I would let him to do so..
“Arnav?” Dad interrupts us. “This way…”
“Dad? I am not letting you deal with him alone..”
“Stay here” Dad shouts at me and Arnav gives me a wink before walking away with dad in the drawing room.
********************
Arnav’s POV
As soon as me and Shashi Gupta are seated in the drawing room, he comes straight to the point.
“What do you want Arnav?”
“I want you to cut off all your ties with Khushi.”
“What?” he shouts. “Are you insane? Khushi is my daughter..”
“A very cunning daughter you have Mr. Gupta. I am sure you know that already.”
He grits his teeth.
“Whatever she is, she is mine. Why would I cut off ties with her?”
“For her own good. And for your own good too..”
He doesn't understand so I explain.
“I have proofs of your black business Mr. Gupta. All the taxes that you don’t pay, all the money that sits in your Swiss bank account without anybody’s notice and most importantly, the talks about your tie ups with some dark world..”
“That’s a gossip. I have nothing to do with the dark world.. The underworld. And you know it. I am not that kind of a man. You have worked for me before.. You were the closest to me.”
I don’t want to recall those times when I used to be the closest to Mr. Gupta as his personal assistant. That’s when all this began.. And the day it ended, my innocence and goodness stripped too.
“Khushi is my only daughter. I want her safe. Doesn't matter how much you threaten me, I am not going to bend..”
“Alright then… The Income tax department and media will be here shortly. You continue to fight with them while that still doesn't take my wife away from me. Our marriage is legal. You will become bankrupt in no time because of your black business and IT issues and then either your daughter herself will leave you or she will be in this endless loop of pain as she tries to pull you out of this ditch. Are you prepared to see that or will you be happy to see her married to a man much greater in terms of class and status than your family, who has enough money to look after her needs and not to mention.. a man who once … LOVED Her..”
Though the word Love leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, I still use it in this context to make sure Shashi Gupta agrees to my demands.
“Choice is yours, Mr. Gupta. Pick a side soon because my fifteen minutes are soon going to be up.”
“What about Khushi? How will you treat her?” He raises his query.
“She will be treated like every wife is at her husband’s place. You are allowed to meet her whenever you like but you won’t support her financially anymore.. nor will you have any say in her life’s decisions. All that is my right now.. Only mine..”
He swallows nervously thinking what to do.
“One minute Mr. Gupta. That’s all you have..”
“I…” he groans. “Fine.. But you have to promise me you wont hurt my daughter ever…”
“Do you think you have a choice to bargain?”
He looks displeased but I don’t let him ponder much.
“I give you my word, Mr. Gupta. Your daughter will be taken care of.”
The door to the study room opens and Khushi barges in.
“What is happening Dad? Why are you even listening to him? Just call the police and-”
“Go home with him, Khushi. He is your husband now..”
I smirk at Shashi Gupta’s response. He has finally agreed to my demands. Khushi looks horrified at her father.
“What did you say?”
“I said go with your husband. You married him. Take it seriously”
“What?” she growls. “I can’t believe my father is saying that”
“Then what did you expect me to do? If he is your husband today it is all because of your silliness.”
“Dad?”
“I have nothing to give you here anymore. Arnav is going to take care of your pocket money and he is also ready to bear your tantrums. If you don’t, he can go to any extent to defame us Khushi. That’s the last thing I want. I have worked hard to be where we are today in the world. Don’t make me lose it all because of your mistakes.”
Khushi’s jaw drops as she hears her father’s words. I straighten my suit.
“Alright then, Mr. Gupta. I have some work to do. It was nice meeting you again.” I say, and then turn to Khushi. “I am at the car. You got only 5 minutes to come out. Don’t waste time in grabbing your stuff. I have ensured you have everything in my house whatever you need.”
Before she could retort, I make my way to the door.
“And Khushi?”
She turns to me again, her nose flaring in anger.
“I don’t mind if you even beg me to take you home..”
“In your dreams,” she scoffs shutting the door on my face to speak to her father alone and I don’t mind.. She can show as much of attitude she wants to.. at the end, I am going to strip it all off her.
To be Continued.

Awesome Update. Loved the way Arnav threatened Shashi Gupta on the basis of his power. Khushi is now going to stay with Arnav. It will be interesting how Arnav will treat her. Khushi has no option. Arnav still loves Khushi though she had hurt him. Hope Khushi realize her mistakes while staying with Arnav. Thanks for the Update😍😍
ReplyDeleteOk. I don't know what the past is at all. Most probably Arnav has been treated badly by father-daughter and Khushi seems to be a bit immature. But I am not liking how she is being treated and passed like a parcel between her father and Arnav. After all two wrongs don't make a right.
ReplyDeleteOMG... This is fabulous . Arnav is Soooooooooo different in this story and I really like him so far, it's going to be intense romance can't wait to read more.
ReplyDeleteKhushi was a spoilt brat. Arnav somewhere still loves her and can't get over the past. He desires her and is possessive about her too. Khushi might have hurt him badly. Arnav planned everything accurately. Khushi want to send Arnav to jail yet admire him and want to make friendship with Arnav. Khushi also has some feelings for Arnav. Arnav is now more powerful and his attitude is🔥🔥 . He revealed Khushi's selfish nature to her dad. The way he threatened Shashi Gupta is amazing. Arnav used to love Khushi a lot. Arnav's romantic version of Idiot is nice. What Khushi did that Arnav lost his innocence. Khushi will soon regret her deeds along with her dad. How Arnav will treat Khushi will be interesting and how their relationship will turn. Waiting for the next part.
ReplyDeleteWell this is disturbing..still intrigued..hope everything is justified correctly..but why do things have to be so extrm.. n why play with marriage again
ReplyDeleteYa! Y it always have to be marriage + taking it for granted + using it as a toy.
DeleteDude this is really childish, I mean Madhu come'on babe, I didnot expect this? I don't know what but something is ticking me off. It felts really rushed when her dad agreed in an instant. And why is Khushi giving dumb vibes, she blushed, lol wth? She really needs a reality check already! Arnav feels like those dudes who get rich instantly and wants to showoff. And also, please avoid the husband haqq concept.
ReplyDeleteI wrote tgis at 3:00 lol, this was my genuine review, not a HATE comment! I love your stories, honestly!
If this story does not go well with me I'll gladly take a back seat coz the last thing I'd want to be is a critic. It's just the start that's why I wrote the review. Hoping you'll look into this!!??
Well the energy is very energetic and effect also but i am afraid to say its sounds a bit abusive and downtrodden. Its also depicting, very slightly, a wrong image of love. Even if khushi wronged arnav first, its clearly shows she wasn't in love with him but arnav had and him wronging or better say avenging khushi after being in LOVED with her once isn't looking right and acceptable. Remove love than may be it will be ok. Though the idiot definition was unique and contradicting;)> khushi blushing for such a petty gesture was a bit off and confusing. Waiting for the rivalry to unfold.
ReplyDeleteSomething really bad happened in past that is why he is so rude but he do care too.
ReplyDeleteBest like all other concepts dii....
ReplyDeleteI know I will get bashed for my comment but I don't want to write a comment just to please you with fake words. I really love your work and you are an amazing writer sis. I'm reading your stories from the start, My new boss season 1 is the first story I read and I have read your stories even before that. So it's not about your writing.
ReplyDeleteFirst one is in almost every story why status is emphasised? Do Arnav have to be rich in every story? Even if Khushi is rich, Arnav has a history of a good past unlike Khushi. They always have a difference in status. Even if Khushi is rich she is one step lower than him or in this story it's black money.
Arnav character is always justified with a sad past. I don't like it. He can be bad just because he is. We don't have to justify him always. Even Khushi doesn't need to be justified if she is wrong. We can get hurt and have a bad past. And obviously our character would change. But if we are going to hurt someone making it an excuse then that's really wrong and we can't justify that.
Khushi didn't love him back then. SHe was childish and had a carefree nature. If Arnav loved her she was not at fault because she didn't have to love him back. Again he will be justified making Khushi the guilty one.
No offense sis but I wanted to get this out from my mind. I really wish you open a thread where we can post our worries about stories. So we can comment our ideas and what we really feel in general. Thank you for the update. I'm not upset about the story yet. But it's not that great yet. Hope it will get better and if it's not my cup of tea I will stop reading without giving you this type of comments. Thank you for the update ❤️
Bang on!
DeleteI wanna help the author by telling this that your content is getting stereotypical, a characteristic which isn't good for such a skilled and professional writer. I hope author doesn't mind us and work on it to be on top as always.
DeleteI think, something really bad happened to Arnav in the past and that’s why he is so rude and bitter towards Khushi and her father. I have full faith on Madhu’s fiction, it is going to be good in future days. Waiting to know more about the.
ReplyDeleteWonderful fabulous update dear
ReplyDeleteHave to wait for the past incidents to know what Khushi had done to make Arnav behave in such a manner. Nice update
ReplyDeleteDifferent but nice
ReplyDeleteSuperb update...
ReplyDeleteSeems khushi and her father had hurt arnav in the past with their status and money
Like the way arnav came prepared and he told correctly only he can tolerate her tantrums and bring her to line
Looking forward
Its very surprising and amusing to see how some people had not just judged Khushi but have even gave their verdict too about Arnav being the victim and Khushi the wrongdoer so she should regret and realized her mistakes.
ReplyDeleteFor now, still, im not gonna assume or take sides because nothing is clear.
Im not sure if i should call this Arnav as funny or cool or sassy or simply his original self😂 but he is having his gun fully loaded🤣 though im not liking the way he is continuously humiliating Khushi. If the hurt and pain of Arnav is about his love for Khushi that she rejected or it was one sided than he is totally wrong. One sided love doesn't make the other person wrong or cruel. Love can't be forced or be avenged. And if he is on revenge because of other reason that its ok.
Kids like Khushi, as by some people, if are like rich spoil brats than according to me its not their fault wholly. Its their parents, family and upbringing fault. They are raised in such ways. Though everyone should know the difference between right and wrong and should choose their ways wisely, so the fault is partial. We can't expect people to behave according to our desires and wishes contrasting their roots and upbringing neither can game them the verdict to be bad.
Its just a start and there is a lot to happen, expose, and start. Waiting for the unfolding of them and their lives.
awesome update. love this Arnav
ReplyDeleteWhy do I feel that khushi will try to commit suicide ?!
ReplyDeleteDamn.. that last line was a hell of a dialogue.. I wonder what happened in the past.. please reveal it soon so we can understand their actions much better
ReplyDeleteVery nice and very interesting update
ReplyDelete.❤️❤️
This story is something I am wrapping my head around and trying to understand this Arnav and Kushi. I am 100% confident that Madhu will steer me to the storyline soon.
ReplyDelete
