Chapter 32A
Khushi’s POV
I don’t understand why Arnav made NK follow me? Didn’t he trust me enough to hold some secret which is related to Sheesh Mahal? Or maybe he was worried of my safety. I thought meeting Sheetal would clarify the doubts I had about what is happening in Sheesh Mahal but now that she has given me some different clues about Chandrika being alive and also mentioning to me that Chandrika has casted a spell on the family has made me confused even more. All that was not enough already, that NK intruded our conversation. And the way he and Sheetal are arguing right now with each other makes me believe they had a past together.
“Sheetal, please. Don’t drag my Bhabhi in all this. Spare her.” NK shouts.
Sheetal frowns at his allegations.
“This is exactly why we could never continue, NK. You lack trust in me.”
NK clenches his jaw and turns to me.
“Bhabhi lets go..”
“She is not going anywhere because unlike you, someone has to do something to save your family,” Sheetal blocks my way.
I am confused witnessing their bickering.
“Sheetal, please. Stop this nonsense.”
“NK,” I finally interrupt their argument. “Sheetal is right. I won’t leave from here until I know what’s wrong with Sheesh Mahal.”
NK gives me a cold stare and then takes out his phone.
“Fine. Let me tell Bhai where you are and why.”
He is about to dial Arnav when Sheetal snatches his phone.
“You can’t tell him anything. He is the source of the spell. If you tell him, he’ll be alert.”
What? I feel like someone pulled the ground off my feet. Arnav is the source of that spell? What is that supposed to mean? NK freezes too and we both stare at Sheetal for answers.
“Yes. Arnav is the one why all this is happening in the family. And if you tell him anything, it will not be good for anyone of us..” Sheetal explains.
“Enough,” I scowl back at her. “What do you mean Arnav is the one why this is happening? He is the eldest son of that family. Why would he ever do anything to hurt them.”
“I told you, Bhabhi. There is nothing constructive you can find here from Sheetal. She is only blaming each one of the Raizada family for no idea what reason..”
“Reason? You want the reason why I am doing all this?” Sheetal rebukes. “Because I love you, Nandakishore and protecting your family is my right.. you like it or not, I don’t care.”
NK is stunned and I am speechless. Love? Of course, that love she has for him is now visible in her eyes but Sheetal doesn't add anything more. In fact, she turns to me again.
“If you want to leave, Khushi, I won’t stop you. But just be cautious. Tomorrow is the no moon day. You have to ensure that Arnav doesn't lose even a drop of blood by any accident. If he does, it will be like another blood sacrifice towards the evil and the spell will grow stronger.”
My heart beats frantically as she mentions all of that. No-moon? Blood? Sacrifice? And all of this connects with my husband? What am I supposed to do?
My phone rings and I see Arnav’s name displayed as the caller-id. Sheetal and NK see it too.
“Please don’t tell him anything. He might be innocent but the spell he’s into will destroy all our attempts and we wont be able to help him or the family, Khushi. Please,” Sheetal pleads.
I look at NK who is as confused as I am. After almost four rings, I finally answer the call, composing myself.
“Khushi? Where are you? Why are you not answering my calls?” Arnav shouts.
“I… I was out.. Didn’t hear the phone ringing until now..”
“Out where? I’ll come to pick you. Text me the address.”
“No.. don’t. I mean… I am not alone. NK is with me. He will drive me back home. I’ll see you at home.”
I hear Arnav taking a sigh of relief.
“Alright. I’m also reaching home in an hour. See you then.. Bye..”
“Bye”
I disconnect the call and then turn back to Sheetal.
“I don’t want to leave until I know all of it from you, Sheetal. Doesn’t matter who does or not, but I trust you. I can feel the threat looming on Sheesh Mahal and if it also includes my husband, I’ll do anything to save him from the evil. But right now, I have to go back home. As you said, we don’t want him to know about this, so if he doesn't see me at home, he can become suspicious..”
Sheetal nods and holds my hand.
“Thank you for believing in me, Khushi. And please be normal with Arnav. He is not possessed but he is surely under the spell of Chandrika. We can discuss all that later on how this happened and why.. but I assure you I’ll help you out in this.”
I smile back at her and then walk out with NK following me to his car.
*******************
I am quiet in the car which NK is driving. He hasn’t spoken a word to me after leaving the guest house where we met Sheetal. Suddenly, I have heap of queries for NK too and I don’t delay in raising them.
“Since when do you know Sheetal?” I ask and he goes blank for a second.
“Three years,” he replies.
“How? You met her in London or..”
“here in India.. in this very town.. I met her three years ago when I had flown to India for a mountain hiking trip with my friends. Sheetal was also on that trip. We met through a common friend.”
“And?” I want him to keep telling me.
“And we happened to like each other. Her calm mind, positive nature and simplicity attracted me to her. In just 45 days of my stay here, I had fallen head over heels for Sheetal.”
Wow. That sounds like a cute love story.
“Then I flew back to London but we never missed touch. We kept calling each other and that way I kept telling her about our family. She was always interested to know who we have in the family, about our ancestral home – Sheesh Mahal and all.. I initially thought being my girlfriend she is genuinely interested in these information but I was wrong.. She needed it because she was doing some damn research on Sheesh Mahal and the strange things that she thought happened there a few years ago..”
“Strange things have happened, NK,” I speak. “Daadi too has told me about that and none of the family members know it. So obviously, Sheetal is not lying..”
“Maybe she is not lying. But she was using me to get to the core of Sheesh Mahal’s problems. I thought all her love for me was only to dig that information.”
“Huhh” I shrug and look away angrily. “You men are always so judgmental.”
“Bhabhi please.. How can you expect me to believe in all this?”
“Then when will you believe it? When someone gets hurt? Or someone dies?”
“Bhabhi..” he snaps.. looking angrily at me and then focusses on the drive again. “I don’t know what to do..”
“She loves you, NK and if you ever loved her then trust her. Try to understand and appreciate her concern for our family. She is doing this for us.. not for herself.”
NK nods weakly.
“Lets keep this matter hidden from Arnav and the family for now. Okay?”
He nods again, accepting my demand.
“And I need to know if you are on my side or not? If I believe in Sheetal and want her to help us, will you help us too or not..”
NK exhales audibly.
“Do I have a choice here? One side I have the woman I love and the other side the woman whom my brother loves unconditionally. Of course, I can’t leave your sides at all to make sure you two are safe. I am with you both..”
His assurance brings a smile on my face.
“Thank you, NK.. Thank you..”
Now that this is sorted, I have to think of Arnav and what Sheetal asked me to ensure for tomorrow. If the spell is true and if Arnav is the source, I can’t let him meet any major/minor accident tomorrow on the no-moon night. Which means.. by hook or crook I have to make sure Arnav doesn't leave my sight for the next 24 – 30 hours..
To be Continued.

The Forbidden Series - Book 2 (Enemies to Lovers Romance Novel)
Khushi Thakur
Have compassion for your family and be heartless towards your enemies. This has been my only slogan since I became the backbone of the RS Group of Companies where I am in charge of dealing with their tricky competitors. This time our focus is on the AR Group, which has rattled to its core ever since its CEO, Aarav Raichand allegedly stepped down from his position. Whatever they say, I'm still certain he's a tornado disguised as my business rival. There’s something about this man that I loathe and something that draws me insanely towards him. This unseen magnetism between us coaxes me to believe Aarav is that missing piece of my life’s puzzle, which I had given up solving.
Aarav Raichand
Two years ago, my world crashed down forever when I lost my wife, Jhanvi Raichand. But then I saw her again, this time in my rival’s arms. Everyone said she only had a similar face. I believed that too. She wasn’t my Jaan. She was not the one who transformed me from a vengeful man to a loving husband. But I was drawn to her like a moth to fire. Could she be my Jaan and didn’t want to recognize me anymore? If I could avenge my family to bring justice to my life earlier, I would burn down the world this time to get this woman in my arms again. The only difference is that this time there will be no rules. It’s about time I remind them what it meant to meddle with the love of a big bad wolf!!
The world had seen my Revenge; now they would witness my Rivalry.

Awesome Update. Hope everything goes well. Chandrika probably has casted this spell along with the other Arnav. Arnav is under Chandrika's spell. NK thought Sheetal used him which is not true. Khushi shouldn't let Arnav out of her sight and hopefully he won't meet with an accident and loose blood. I am already waiting for the second part eagerly. 😍😍
ReplyDeleteOmg. I seriously don’t understand anything anymore.
ReplyDeleteI guess it’s like Chandrika is controlling Arnavs mind. But he hasn’t show anything abnormal yet. May be his rash decisions like breaking the lock on that door is one such effect of controlling his mind. I’m glad that khushi has one person to support her. Wonder how khushi will save Arnav n keep an eye on him. Nice update n thank you!
Wow. I knew Chandrika will be involved but this is spooky and very Potter like now. Awesome no matter what anyone says I think you rock as a writer and as for whether the story has merit or not I believe the author has to create and the audience can accept or move away. I for one think this is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteNK and sheetal loving each other. Now NK and Sheetal are there to support Khushi.Between how Khushi going to keep arnav safe. Day by day it's becoming scarier. How Khushi going to bring arnav from spell. I'm feeling like from no moon day evil actions going to doubled.
