Chapter 53B
Anjali prepared the kheer while Khushi shared with her the little conversation she had with Arnav last night on planning the second baby.
“Chotte is absolutely right. I told you if he denying, there must be some strong reason behind it.” She stated.
Khushi pouted agreeing to that.
“So now the problem is how will we convince Aarav?” Khushi sighed. “My poor baby wants a sibling and his parents are not planning to give him one for another one-two years”
Anjali laughed and turned off the burner as the Kheer was ready. She was leaving back home today post Lunch. Shyam was returning from Canada so she couldn’t miss welcoming him home.

Anjali laughed and turned off the burner as the Kheer was ready. She was leaving back home today post Lunch. Shyam was returning from Canada so she couldn’t miss welcoming him home.
“I think I have a solution to that already” she replied.
Khushi kept watching her to explain but instead Anjali kept controlling her blush.
“No way” Khushi reached her. “You are preggy?”
“No” Anjali denied but her cheeks glowed further. “But me and Shyam are planning to have a baby by next year”
“So soon?”
Not that Khushi was unhappy with their decision but she still felt it too soon for her as just like her and Arnav, Anjali and Shyam also never got their share of love for 8 long years.
“I mean.. don’t you both want to connect and bond before.. taking up this responsibility?”
“We do, of course” Anjali acknowledged. “But not everyone has that much time to honor. I have crossed 30 and so has Shyam. We don’t want to take risk waiting for longer. You and Chotte are planning for a second child at this age, but it would be our first. We are not taking chances”
She was absolutely right and Khushi nodded accepting her reasons.
“So, you can tell Aarav his Bua will honor that promise this time and give him a sibling soon while you and Arnav build your bond again and plan your second child at your own pace” She added.
“Great” Khushi took a sigh of relief. She was happy for Anjali and also because Aarav’s problem was going to be solved. “So, I am hoping these frequent trips of Dr. Shyam to Canada is going to halt for few months” She teased.
“Why is that?” Arnav’s interruption startled the two. He had no clue on what context his wife asked it to Anjali but he surely wanted to know. He came inside, dressed in his track pants and Maroon T-Shirt looking dapper as ever. Giving an assessing glance to his wife who was in his favorite Saree today, he turned to Anjali for the reason. “Is all okay between you and Shyam?”
Arnav’s query brought a smile on Anjali’s face. In all these months since her marriage, Arnav had shown his concern for her but it was mostly indirect but today she was reminded of their past bonding when he was always desperate to know each and every thing happening in his sister’s life.
“Your Chotte is too innocent to connect the dots Anjali, please explain him or he is going to bug me tonight for spilling the secrets” Khushi teased holding her giggle.
“Secrets?” Arnav frowned turning back to his sister. “You keeping more secrets from me?”
Anjali was too numb to respond seeing his worry.
“God, you are just too much Arnav” Khushi pushed him by her elbow. “Anjali and Shyam are planning a baby soon unlike us which is why I teased her that he wouldn’t travel much without his wife anymore.”
Happiness coursed through his face as Arnav absorbed what Khushi told him.
“That’s super good news” He replied. “Have always dreamt to be an Uncle to your kids Di”
She bloomed with joy hearing his confession. Tears sprung in her eyes as he walked to the Gas burner and served some Kheer for himself.
“Can’t miss this” He quickly tasted the kheer Anjali made and relished it like old times. “Thank you, Di. It was the best as ever”
Anjali couldn’t contain her happiness. Khushi noticed this growth in their relationship which was necessary to bring smiles on their faces forever. Anjali quickly filled two more bowls of Kheer and took them for Aarav and her father and as soon as she was out of Kitchen, Arnav hauled his wife to him.
“Arnav? Leave.. anyone could watch us like this..”
“Like this?” he pulled her so closer this time that she forgot the rest. “What were you saying to Di? I bug you at night?” His brows rose questioningly and she could only flush.
“You don’t just bug, you almost drain me for the rest of the night and the next day too”
“Do I?” he kissed her cheeks and she had to stop him from going further.
“You should stop romancing me at every corner of this house Arnav. We don’t stay alone here”
“Not my fault” He kissed her jaw and then the crook of her neck where a faint mark of his last night’s ministrations was still visible. “You can’t expect me to keep my hands off you when you wear Sarees. Especially, this color”
Khushi giggled hard when his hands were all over her waist.
“Behave” she warned him and tried to shove off his hands and this time she was successful enough to do so as they heard Aarav’s voice from the living room. Though he wasn’t headed for the kitchen yet, none of the two could take that risk.
“Today you made me happy” Khushi added.
“Just today? I thought I make you happy every Day… every NIGHT”
Khushi shivered when he kissed her earlobe. This man was seriously something else today.. like love possessed.
“What’s gone into you today?” She gripped his hands from exploring her further and he didn’t mind. “At this rate and such efficiency, we might cross Anjali’s deadlines and deliver our second baby before her”
Arnav rolled his eyes understanding her point.
“You are such a spoiler of romantic moments, Sweetheart. I was just getting started and you ruined it”
“Aww..” she cupped his cheeks. “I will make it up to you later if you don’t mind. Right now, I want to appreciate your actions.”
“Which ones?” He didn’t understand.
“You are opening up to Anjali again.. which is good. Did you see the glow in her eyes?”
Now he fell silent. He didn’t do any of that intentionally. When he heard Khushi talking about Shyam’s probability of postponing his future abroad trips, he was worried if everything was fine in his Di’s married life. So, he checked with her and when he learnt that she was planning a baby soon, he was genuinely happy. And how could he miss the Kheer she prepared? He knew she specially cooked it every time she was here to visit them and that was only because it was his favorite.
Khushi circled her arms around his neck.
“I think your relationship with her will come back on track very soon”
He didn’t comment, but she was right. He felt that too. After all that had happened in their past and the way each and everyone amongst them were making an effort towards a better future, he was sure things would turn back in their favor soon. It was only a matter of time for their relationships to be normal again.
